Vintage Mexican sterling silver necklace in a very interesting, layered neo-Aztec design, this is one of those pieces whose impact is strongest when you have it in your hands. I was always sceptical about this specific design - until I received my first example of it - a poison ring. And I fell in love with the complexity of composition, the mutliple techniques used to craft it, and the slick modernism that pairs wonderfully with the pre-Colombian elements. The necklace has an inner circumference of 15", maybe even a little more (clasped) while its central part is 3 3/4" wide with a total drop of approx. 1 7/8". It weighs 75.1 grams and is signed with maker's initials "VOO" as well as "MEXICO 925" alongside Eagle 3 assay mark. It dates in the 1950s-70s and is in excellent vintage condition with great patina, its oxidation in very good shape and no damage or repairs noted.
