Stunning in its beauty and its proportions, a vintage Deco Mexican silver by pass ring that is, in fact, a miniature Taxco clamper! I admire the maestros who made these pieces for taking on the challenge of fitting all this detail and complexity in such small spaces. The example at hand is bold and beautiful - perfect finishing, great oxidation, fantastic relief in a classic Taxco design. It is a comfortable sz 6.5 but can be adjusted a little upwards (up to a 7.5, I would suggest) and its face is 1 3/4" by 7/8". It weighs 10.1 grams and is signed with maker's initials "IV" as well as "STERLING TAXCO". Slightly out of round which is quite often the case with by pass rings of this age it is in otherwise excellent vintage condition with great patina, a rich and complex design, eye-catching and with no damage or repairs noted.
