Slick, modernist Antonio Pineda silver and amethyst bracelet wrought in his favorite .970 alloy which is higher in precious metal content than sterling. This is one of those pieces that make you feel comfortable in your skin whether you dress for a dinner party or go out for coffee with friends. Substantial around the wrist like all Antonio bracelets are, it is nonetheless far from burdensome and, if I may suggest, lends itself to combinations with other, similar treasures you might already possess. I love the combination of amethyst and silver and the half-barrel shaped stones are rich in inclusions here and have strong color. Measuring 6 3/4" long (wearable) by 5/8" wide the bracelet weighs a generous 76.7 grams. It is fully marked with Antonio's crown as well as the Los Castillo Cooperativa mark where Pineda's pieces were produced for a couple of years in the early 1960s. The bracelet is also stamped "970" and bears Eagle 58 assay mark. It is in very good vintage condition, a pleasure to wear and to behold, having a warmly glowing patina and beautifully colored stones with interesting inclusions that add depth and drama to them; no damage and no repairs noted except for one tiny little nick in one of the amethysts but it's very difficult, if not impossible, to discern with a naked eye and does not really affect the way the bracelet present
