Just in time for Valentine's but not restricted to that day this scrumptious Mexican silver charm bracelet is a Deco piece and adorned with a chunky carved stone heart charm. "Heart" jewelry of this kind is characteristic of the pre-1948 jewelry production in Mexico with the stone hearts usually made out of dyed calcite (habitually referred to as "Mexican jade") or agate. I am drawn to it not only because of its obviously ... darling theme but also because there is something innocent and honest about these specific hearts as tokens of love and affection. Usually they can be found in ring, earring, brooch and bracelet form yet a few years ago I was lucky enough to find a coveted and quite rare carved heart necklace example. The bracelet at hand is 7" long (wearable) by 3/8" wide with the heart charm being 1" square and 5/8" thick and adding an approx. 1 1/4" drop to the chain. It weighs 31.5 grams, is simply marked "MEXICO SILVER" and dates in the pre-1948 period. It is in
excellent vintage condition with no damage or repairs noted, great patina and a beautifully curvaceous, chunky stone heart charm.
