A rarely seen Enrique Ledesma Mexican silver and amethyst necklace and earrings set in a modernist interpretation of a floral design, I have had similar pieces in the past but always anonymous or signed by "less celebrated" yet known maestros. I will put forth the suggestion that Ledesma might have been the design's original creator not because he is one of the renowned Taxco designers but mostly because of the quality and attention to detail I see in this set that goes above and beyond the versions by other makers I have handled before. Measuring 16 3/4" long (wearable) the necklace is 5/8" wide. The earrings are 1 1/2" long by 5/8" wide and the set weighs 54.1 grams.. All pieces are fully hallmarked with maker's signature as shown as well as "SILVER 925" and Eagle 1 assay mark. The demi dates in the 1950s-60s and is in excellent vintage condition with fantastic patina, having good weight and exhibiting the quality of craftsmanship that Ledesma jewelry is known and collected for, with beautiful stones and no damage or repairs noted.
