Modernist Los Castillo Mexican silver ring with azurite and malachite inlay in the Mozaico Azteca style, this is an exercise in modernist geometry. There is something distinctly zen, if you allow me the term, in the circle-in-circle design that dominates the flat ring face. Quite elemental still impressive because of the intense colors in the inlay, it has been well-loved and enjoyed during its long life. The ring is a sz 10 (possibly resizable but not dramatically, if you need to make it smaller) with its face being 3/4" in diameter and its weight registering at 15.2 grams. It is signed"LOS CASTILLO", "925 MEXICO" and bears Eagle 3, which the Los Castillo used yet is also marked with initials "SMM". The ring dates in the 1950s-60s period and is in very good vintage conditio with great patina and light scratches in the silver shank as expected of a well-loved, thoroughly enjoyed ring yet no damage and no repairs noted. The inlay is all present albeit its plane is slightly lower than the sterling cloisons that delineate the circle-in-circle design.
