A post-1948 Los Ballesteros Mexican silver and tiger's eye necklace, this is a luxurious piece not only because of the ornate silver-work but also because of the colors in the stone cabs. There is something magical about tiger's eye - the striations in the stone make the cabs look like feline eyes and the molten golden browns and caramels impart a sense of sweet warmth and abundance. Made out of thick silver, the links are perfectly finished and masterfully articulated so that the necklace sits around the neck like a dream. It is 16 1/4" long (wearable) with the triangular medallion being 2 3/4" wide and adding a 2 3/8" drop to the chain. It weighs 90.6 grams and is fully and appropriately signed with the Los Ballesteros conjoined initials as well as "HECHO EN MEXICO", "STERLING 925" and Eagle 47 assay mark. The necklace dates in the 1950s-70s period and is in
excellent vintage condition with gorgeously colored, glistening stones, great patina, a very rich, eye-catching design and no damage or repairs noted.
