Ornate and beautifully made, with a fantastic patina that makes the juxtaposition between the darkened recesses of the design and the glowing raised surfaces even more dramatic, this ornate and difficult-to-find Mexican silver ring is signed by Gerardo Lopez. I consider Lopez one of Taxco's foremost maestros in the art of repoussage and the ring at hand is, I believe, a telling example. I will let the photos continue the story... Currently a sz 4.75 US, it can be easily re-sized by a jeweler. Its face is just above 1" N-S and 7/8" E-W and it weighs 8.3 grams. It is signed with maker's name as well as "STERLING TAXCO" and Eagle 26 assay mark and dates in the 1950-60s. In excellent vintage with fantastic patina, a rare-to-find design and no damage or repairs noted.
