Bearing the signature of Plateria FarFan which was based in Mexico City, the necklace at hand is the narrower version of this mod mesh design. Far Fan is one of the workshops associated with "chain mail" necklaces of this kind. One can find them in all-silver as here or adorned with turquoise cabs and even in mixed metals with copper and brass woven into the silver. Flexible and generous in length as a choker, this is an easy necklace to wear every day and happily lends itself to "neck mess" combinations as well. Measuring 15 1/2" long (wearable) by 1/2" wide it weighs 46.9 grams. It is marked with maker's signature as shown as well as "HECHO EN MEXICO D.F." and "925" and dates in the pre-1948m period. It is in excellent vintage condition, with beautiful patina, comfortable to wear, with no damage or repairs noted.
