One of Margot de Taxco’s most romantic, delicately elegant yet still eye-catching and beautifully made necklaces, the “foliate bow” is characterized by generous micro-beading accented by just the right touch of oxidation. The chain’s riveted links rest perfectly around the neck while the intricately woven central station brings to mind earlier, Old World “lovers’ knot” jewelry. Measuring 16 1/2” long (wearable) with its central station being 2 1/2” wide with a drop of 1” and the width at the chain being 3/16”, the necklace weighs 36.0 grams. It is fully marked with Margot’s signature as shown as well as “STERLING MADE IN MEXICO”, Eagle 15 assay mark and des. no 5346 and dates in the 1950s-60s. In excellent vintage condition with the attention to detail and the superb craftsmanship Margot jewelry is known and collected for, very nice patina (especially heavy on the back yet easily polished out, if you wish), with no damage and no repairs noted.
