Though I love silver and the gallery here more than reflects the preference, I cannot stay away from beautiful, old jewelry even when they are made of other materials. The gorgeous French Deco Egyptian Revival bracelet presented here is a costume piece yet it was simply irresistible. I love the antique brass finish, the two sizes of scarabs that form the links and the sugar-loaf type molded black glass gems that adorn it. Sheer elegance - who can do it better than the French? The bracelet is 7” long by 1 3/16” wide at center front and weighs 35.3 grams (FYI only since there isn’t any precious metal here). It is marked “MADE IN FRANCE” and dates in the 1910s-20s. It is in excellent vintage condition with wonderful patina and a beautiful design, some expected minimal wear to the black glass cabs and the brass finish that is very difficult to spot with a naked eye, with no damage and no repairs noted - a fantastic example of French Deco Egyptian Revival costume jewelry.
