Big and beautifully sand-cast this vintage silver Navajo buckle is adorned with two turquoise cabochons and two silver "nuggets". An impressive piece both in proportions and in weight as well, it is not signed for maker nor hallmarked for metal content which might indicate a pre-1970 date. The stones are beautiful with rich veining, securely set in their saw-tooth bezels and the overall patina exactly what you want to see on a well-loved, well-cared for piece of adornment with age and history. The buckle measures 3 5/8" wide by 3" tall and weighs 73.2 grams. It is not signed for maker nor hallmarked for metal content yet tested and guaranteed to be solid silver of at least .900 purity though most probably sterling (please note that the findings on the back, that is the belt holder and hook, are not silver). It is difficult for me to date with accuracy but I will suggest ca 1970. In excellent vintage condition with impressive size, beautiful stones, nice patina, no damage and no repairs noted.
