Hand-hammered silver links shaped like concave elongated pyramids overlaid with 18k figural gold appliques make up this impressive 1950s Peruvian bracelet by Industria Peruana. Crafted in silver first and then covered in 18k gold sheet the appliques are inspired by ancient Inca motifs and show birds, temples and gods. That same combination of precious metals is also what forms the circular connectors at the top of the pyramidal links and even though it makes photographing the bracelet a challenge, the warmth of the gold also softens the more metallic glow of the sterling. The bracelet measures 7 3/8” long (wearable) by 1 7/8” wide and weighs a good 62.1 grams. It is hallmarked “18K” and bears partial maker’s mark (I read it as “PERUANA”). There is no hallmark for the quality of the silver yet the bracelet has been tested and guaranteed to be of sterling purity. It dates in the 1950s and is in excellent vintage condition with stunning presence, careful finishing, and no damage or repairs noted except for a very small piece of the gold leaf overlay that is missing in one of the figural links - not visually offensive yet you can see it here in more detail thanks to the macro lens.
