Based on an original, almost impossible to find Margot de Taxco design, the repousse "swans-in-a-row" bracelet I am presenting here is wrought in fine, .980 silver and is a little masterpiece. I think suggesting that "A.E.M", whose initials can be found on it, was a maestro who worked for the Los Castillo and/or Margot de Taxco is not a far-fetched hypothesis. Not only is this piece very close to Margot's creation, it is also extremely well made, very sculptural and has crisp, rich detail to it. What I love the most about these birds, however, is that they all came out to swim "bedecked and bejeweled", each one of them wearing a classy pearl necklace. Mexico's version of a ... cameo habillé, maybe? Measuring just shy of 7 1/4" long (wearable) by 7/8" wide the bracelet weighs 35.7 grams. It is signed with maker's initials "A.E.M" as shown as well as "HECHO EN MEXICO TAXCO" and "980". It dates in the pre-1948 period and is in excellent vintage condition with gorgeous patina, exceptional sculptural quality, attention to detail and nice finishing, with no damage and no repairs noted.
