A Japanese baluster vase painted with two scenes, separated by brocaded curtains. The neck in imitation of a cloth cover also featuring two Shimizu mon. Within the foot-rim is an extensive signature that begins…Satsuma, and is followed by two lines, one ending Sei (made) and the other Ga (drew) so this vase might prove to be the work of two artists.
