A Chinese grey white jade plaque deeply carved with a dragon and flaming pearl, a bat and magic clouds. This plaque was once part of a set which adorned a belt as can be deduced by the holes and thread channels seen on the back. Yuan or Ming dynasty.

The jade is nicely worn on the front. The rear has a disturbed patina which I suspect might be a result of burial...

A CHINESE CARVED IVORY VASE & COVER, CIRCA 1900.

The vase carefully carved in the manner of an archaic bronze, the surface inlaid with turquoise. The interior with dark staining suggesting that the vase was once this colour but exposure to daylight over the years has caused the staining to fade. The inlaid wood stand is included.

A CHINESE BAMBOO BRUSH POT, BITONG, 19TH CENTURY.

The brushpot is large and thick-walled, certainly a bitong to be used rather than made as a souvenir. It is deeply carved with a depiction of the seven sages in the bamboo grove, a popular subject that appears on bamboo brushpots dating back to the Ming dynasty. It has many age cracks though none look recent to me and the pot looks stable. I have conservatively dated it to the 19th century though it could be earlier.
