A large ribbed Chinese porcelain jug decorated in the Imari palette, made specifically for export to the west during the Kangxi period, circa 1720. The handle is pierced before the firing so that, if required, a metal mount could be fitted. The mouth is unglazed showing that it would have originally had a lid, now lost.
Approximately 13.3cm high. The jug is in good condition with only a little wear to the enamels...

The vase carefully carved in the manner of an archaic bronze, the surface inlaid with turquoise. The interior with dark staining suggesting that the vase was once this colour but exposure to daylight over the years has caused the staining to fade. The inlaid wood stand is included.
Approximately 5.1/4 inches (13.3 cm) high, on stand. There are small traces of glue on the plain band around the body at the base of the neck...

Carved with prunus and bamboo. Nice colour and patina, slightly darker than my photographs suggest.
Approximately 5 inches ( 12.7cm) high, mouth diameter is 2.1/4 inches (5.7cm). Minor age related cracks.

This is a fairly large seal carved with a recumbent deer and pine tree, a bat flying overhead. The stone has a nice patina from handling and it is in excellent condition except for a couple of small shallow flakes on the sharp edge of the rim, just wear from normal use really.

A gold lacquered box used for keeping letters or poem slips. The work is of fine quality with much detail produced with differing techniques. The inside is also gold lacquered and the box seems to have its original tying cords attached to the box with hand made gilt copper fittings...

A fine quality lantern shape porcelain vase beautifully decorated with pairs of fishes against a swirling blue ground. Within the foot-rim can be found the mark “Makuzu Kozan sei” in underglaze blue.
Approximately 10.7/8 inches (27.6cm) high. The vase is in perfect condition but the camera picks up some light wear from normal use. The very light scratches on the body of the lower red fish cannot be seen in normal viewing...

The diminutive case expertly made from high-grade silver, decorated on the front with a couple on a bridge, the back with birds flying amongst fronds of bamboo, all against a fine punched background. When the button is pressed the lid springs open, exposing the maker’s marks on the inner rim.

A very impressive large and heavy porcelain brush washer for the scholar’s table, thickly covered with a crackled celadon glaze in imitation of classic Song Guan ware. The mouth-rim is dressed with an iron-rich glaze. The brush washer dates to the late 18th ~ early 19th century.

An attractive pair of blue & white porcelain bowls decorated with lotus blooms and scrolls in “pencil drawn” style, so-called because of the absence of washes of colour for shading.
