A Japanese Imari porcelain tub possibly for presenting cooked rice at a celebration. It appears to be styled on a sushi oke, a wooden tub used in the preparation of sushi rice. Thickly potted and quite heavy. The glaze inside the inner foot rim has a warmer tone to it. The condition is good with only some wear to the gilding on the rim.

Approximately 23.2 cm diameter. 10.5 cm high.

Please study the photographs.
