The silver gilt appliqué depicts a dancing boy beneath an umbrella formed by a giant branch taken from a peach tree. A deer holding a lingzhi in its mouth and a bat with coin tassels accompanies him. The work is very fine, as you would expect from the late Ming period. The appliqué was intended to be sewn to a costume and therefore is quite delicate and light in weight.

Approximately 6.4cm by 5.6cm Fine condition with only some wear to the gilding from normal use
