A Japanese porcelain 'Black Ship' rice bowl and cover. Imari ware from the early 19th century. The bowl depicts 'Ranjin', Dutchmen, and their trading vessel.
There is a very similar set of five bowls of this design in the Kurita Museum where they are dated to the Bunka-Bunsei period, 1804 ~ 1829.
Aproximately 11.4cm diameter, 7.8cm high. Perfect condition.
