A JAPANESE ZUSHI, BENTEN, EDO PERIOD.
The travelling shrine contains a sculpture of a figure in a boat, probably Benten. Below the plinth a former owner has preserved a lotus petal. Edo period, early 19th century.
6.1/4 inches ( 16 cm ) high. The case has some loss to the lacquer on the base and at the back of the roof. The hinge on the bottom left has lost its pin. Some losses to the sculpture, please study the photographs.
