AN UNUSUAL SETO TOKKURI, 19TH CENTURY.
The body covered overall with a persimmon slip beneath the clear glaze, the neck dipped in a thick green glaze. The potter has engraved some fruit/vegetable forms through the slip before glazing, something I’ve never seen before. The orange and green go very well together. Within the foot-rim the body is clear glazed giving the more typical oatmeal colouring associated with Seto stoneware. 19th century.
Approximately 10.3/16 inches (25.7 cm) high. Numerous small ‘blow-outs’ on the orange and slight loss around the foot. The foot-rim has an area chipped away in the inside. Perfect condition. Please study the photographs.
I am based in the United Kingdom so charges made to credit cards are in GBP ( British Pounds ) and your credit card issuer automatically converts the charge to the currency of your country. Payment may also be made by direct bank transfer in GBP as long as all fees are paid by the sender. I am sorry but I cannot accept a cash transfer payment by Western Union, as I don’t have an office nearby.
