Likely Grant Tour items, this pair of bronze Neptune figures each hold a Scallop or clam shell, together forming a tazza. The dark marble base measures 7" x 3" x 3/4", and the entire form is 5 1/2" at the highest point (the section where the two shells are joined). Both bronze figures have good quality detail and a nice dark patina, and the marble base is charcoal with lighter striations. The base has a few small chips on one bottom corner and a few other tiny spots along edges...

Measuring 15 1/4" high, this crystal decanter has silver mounts, with a silver stopper. The silver has a heavy repousse design, with scroll, floral and foliate motifs, along with scenes of people in antique dress dancing and drinking. The exposed glass surface is very nicely engraved with more scroll and foliate designs, including clusters of grapes and leaves. In good condition, it has some wear to base, some slight tarnish. The base has German hallmark with silver standard mark 800...

Of Sterling Silver, this pair of vases measure just a tad over 6" and have glass inserts of pale green glass (note that one vase looks much darker in one of the photos, due to lighting. They are hand blown and one is slightly thicker, with a darker tint at the bottom, but the difference is very slight). They are hallmarked with the town and date mark of Chester, 1907, and the makers mark, slightly rubbed, is that of Cornelius Saunders & Frances Shepherd, well known for their fine silverwork...

Measuring 8 1/4" at the widest point, and weighing 16 troy ounces, this salver bears the hallmark of London 1902, with a makers mark. On three curved and scrolled feet, the salver is in the Chippendale style, with heavy and wide border around the edge. It is engraved in the center with the Birch family crest, which depicts a fleur de lis with a snake entwined and facing to the left. Of heavy gauge silver, it is in fine condition, with minor scrapes to the surface from general usage...

Measuring 3 3/4" long and 1 7/8" high, this figure of a bull with two figures, clowns or jesters, is solid cast silver, and is nicely formed with fine details. There are hallmarks on the legs of all three figures, and they are very small and hard to read, but there appears to be an "M" clearly visible in two of the marks. Good weight, over four troy ounces. Nicely detailed, even the fingers are well done, as are the feet, hooves, and other textural elements...

Constructed with fairly heavy silver wire, this coin purse measures 3 1/4" wide (including handles), by 2 1/4" high, and is 3/4" deep. The chain is handmade, with drop attachments, and two sections are stamped with a cartouche "NM 1", likely a makers mark. The lid is held tight by a circular mount on the inside. The bottom has a row of loops with drops, many of which are missing, and the end of that row is bent, but all the loops are there...

Of heavy weight, and typical of the very fine silver plate works by Elkington & Co. of the 19th century, this oval serving dish is beautifully designed and executed. Measuring 14 1/4" x 9 3/4" x 1 3/4", it is marked on the deep foot, with makers marks and number, and the date mark is 1888. The rounded border is heavily stamped and repoussed with floral and foliate scrolled designs, and includes two oval cartouches on the sides...

Finely detailed and painted, this bronze sparrow measures 5 1/4" long and is stamped "Austria" on the body. The paint is in excellent condition, with good color remaining, and the bird is remarkably life like in form and stance. One toe on the right foot is bent slightly upward, though it stands firmly, and the tip of the beak is missing some paint. A very nice example of this genre of Austrian bronzes, this bird looks like he would fly off at any moment.

This pair of cast repousse copper plaques depict Bacchanalian celebrations, with drunken children and young satyrs carrying grapes, drinking, playing, and cavorting in a pastoral setting. The panels are well cast, with good detail, and have a raised edge. Unsigned, they are likely Grand Tour souvenirs. Each plaque measures 4 1/4" x 6" and has an attached loop for hanging. One has an attached piece of tape, which appears to be information about who they were given to...

Measuring 12" high and 3 7/8" in diameter at the base, this hammered copper vase has two iron bands with copper rivets at the lip on top, and around the base. Turned upside down, it functions as a candlestick, and has been used as such. Unsigned, it is constructed with heavy gauge copper, and shows good workmanship throughout. It has a nice rich patina, with some spotting and slight variation in color, and there is wax residue on the inside of the candle cup.
