In elegant Art Deco style, this porcelain figurine was designed and created by the Sitzendorf Factory in Germany. it measures 6 1/2" high, the base 7" (the hand extends an inch or so outside of the base) x 2 1/4". It is signed on the base with the Sitzendorf factory mark which was in use from 1918 to 1954. Art deco figures are uncommon for Sitzendorf, and the factory was impacted by WWII, so fewer works were created during that time...

Measuring 8" high, this porcelain vase is thin, being somewhat translucent when light is shown into body. It depicts two women with books or scrolls, with a saying in calligraphy on the back side. The base and neck and heavily enameled with typical Chinese designs and floral/foliate elements, in rose, blue, green, and yellow. The base has a four character mark in red. In excellent condition, no chips or cracks or losses to enamel.

Dating to the mid 20th century, from 1940-1960, burnished wares of this type were created in Tonala, Jalisco Mexico. Near the larger town of Guadalajara, small pueblos became known for the fine workmanship and charming motifs, with Tlaquepaque and Tonala being significant centers for exceptional pottery. This print of Mt. Fuji from Lake Kawaguchi is by Tsuchiya Koitsu, the original produced in 1936. It is signed by the artist, the publisher, the carver and has the watermark of Doi, all shown in close up images. It measures roughly 11 1/4" by 16 3/4" and is matted and framed in contemporary materials, though it can be shipped without frame to save on cost. Of nice size, measuring 9 1/2", and fairly heavy, this ovoid bronze vase features finely executed designs in the Chinese archaic style, and has a very dark green mottled patina to complement the style. Bird figures are facing one another on each side, and two abstract heads are placed between the sides. The wide band around the birds and mounts are filled with geometric designs in a greek key motif. Unsigned, it likely dates to the early to mid 20th century, though could be a bit earlier...

Measuring 13 1/4" high x 9 1/2" wide, this porcelain rooster or cockerel is decorated in famille verte colors, with the body of the bird in rich yellow. The detail in the porcelain modeling is well done, with glazes in yellow, brown, and green, with black detail in the eyes. With two impressed marks on the base, it dates to the early 20th century, either late Qing or early Republic. The comb has been broken and reglued, as is visible on the close up photo of the head...
