Consisting of 22 pieces, this fine set of French silver knives and forks have Kozuka multi-metal handles and are all hallmarked with the 800 mark and French export mark utilized between 1864 and 1893. The silver is beautifully engraved, on both front and backs of utensils, and the handles have varied Japanese motifs, including Samurais, dragons, bamboo, birds, rabbits, ducks, various kinds of flora, and other Japanese figures. The kozukas are highlighted with gilt, and are finely detailed. The forks measure just a tad over 7 1/2" and the knives are 7 3/4". In very fine condition, with one fork handle having damage to the base, visible in photo, second from right in the first and second photos. This is a rare set of Japanese Kozukas, including eleven knives and eleven forks, dating to the 19th Century, with exceptionally fine French silver craftsmanship.
