Of exceptionally large size (17" x 15")this ovoid art glass is decorated on the interior with varying colors of glass threads and forms that extend from the base to the top and sides, creating a flame like design. As seen from all sides, it is a complex and interesting form, with very fine thread like details and tiny spots on the interior, like snowflakes or stars. The piece is signed "Peter Bramhall, February 27, 1984, 'Inferno Series', slowly I am learning the Flux of pieces this size, with help from Andy Bird".
Peter Bramhall (American b. 1942) is a glass artist in Vermont, with a background in steel sculpture, drawings, and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. In the 1960's he began to work in glass, and created this unique form of internally decorated ovoid forms. This sculpture is not just large and elaborate, but clearly depicts the essence of his "Inferno Series", with rich color and especially fine threaded details. Please note that the photos show some reflection on the right side, with green coloration that is not a part of the glass. We have numerous photos of this item, so please inquire and we can send more images.
