Published by Gibbs Smith in 1998, this is the revised edition of the original, published in 1993. This edition is the preferred one, with additional text and photos, including a chronology of events, commissions and exhibitions. The book is richly illustrated with 348 images included, most in full color, with a total of 296 pages. Large size, it measures 12 1/4" x 11 1/8" and retains the original dust jacket. The dark brown cloth cover is embossed with copper colored letters. In very good condition, the dust jacket has a tear at the upper right corner of the front (has been taped from inside), with slight rubbing on other corners, and the top of the spine is slightly bent with a touch of the white cloth showing. (all visible in photos) The interior is perfect, no stains, wear, or signs of use. This is a stunningly beautiful book, a vast and comprehensive view of the life and work of Maynard Dixon, as well as an excellent portrayal of the art of the Southwest, Taos, and Santa Fe during this important era of American art.
