Described as the most beautiful magazine in the world, the volumes of FMR are collectors items for their scholarly text and magnificent photography of some of the finest art, antiquities, interiors, and decorative arts of all time. Franco Maria Ricci was the Editor and Art Director, and these are English editions, printed in Milan, all from 1985 (volumes include #8, #10, #`12, #13, #14, and #15). The first two photos show the covers, and the third photo shows the contents of each volume, with additional photos of interior images.
Each measures 11 3/4" x 9" and contains 140 pages, most of which are articles and photos, and a few pages of advertisements. Generally in good condition, with some wear to covers, but no marks or losses to interior pages; #15 has creases on two corners of the cover, and #13 has a crease on the back cover, and some of the bottom of pages toward the back are slightly rippled, and may have been damp at some time (no foxing or other indications of moisture). Each issue is a treasure trove of articles from classic paintings to Cellini Bronzes, Iznik tiles, early prints, Venetian palaces, each accompanied with lush and finely detailed photographs.
