This lovely Quan Yin standing figure measures 13 3/4", and is leaning slightly forward and to her right, her right hand holding a Ruyi scepter, her left hand holding the edge of her robe. Comprised of red lacquer over wood, her robe is rimmed with a wide hem that is decorated with applied lacquer details, and the fabric of the robe is lightly textured with fine curved lines. Both her face and hands have a rubbed surface, showing brighter color and more gloss. Dating to late Qing, likely 19th century, the condition is good, with loss to the applied lacquer designs on the robe, some minor cracks in the wood and surface, and some loss to the lacquer on the robe (the missing lacquer applique on the edge of the robe shows as lighter areas). From every angle the Quan Yin is graceful, elegant, with a serene and lovely countenance. The photos that show the entire figure are a bit fuzzy, but close up photos show detail and quality, and we always have additional photos if requested.
