Measuring 10" high, with square bases measuring just over 4", with scalloped corners, this pair of 19th century Russian candlesticks have robust turnings and are cast in two pieces, the turned stem visible from the bottom. Very heavy, weighing 7 pounds, they retain a nice soft patina, with verdigris visible on the bases. There is some slight variation in the turnings of this pair, and the lip of one of the sticks is slightly thicker than the other, visible in photos. In good condition, with minor scrapes and dents, they are especially good examples of quality Russian brass work from the 19th century.
