Measuring 34" including pendants, this handmade chain with silver rectangular pendants and chain drops is Chinese, 19th century, and was used to hold an embroidered apron over other clothing. The backs of the rectangular pendants feature hooks to hold the fabric.
The chain itself is 24" and each pendant is just under 5". The chain consists of rectangular loops suspended between a six leafed floral shape. The pendants feature figures who appear to be playing a drum, with other decorative elements around them. On the back of one is an inlaid plaque with script, which may be the maker's mark.
In good condition, wear to the silver pendants, and one of the round fruit shaped drops has a slight dent.
Not tested, though is likely 800 silver, which is the typical standard with such items.
