Rare lacquered brass microscope by F. Koritska, Milan, Italy ca 1900. The firm was founded in 1880 by Francesco Koritska, and was in operation until 1908.
Of solid lacquered brass, with name stamped on base.
It measures 11" high x 5 1/8" x 4" and is 14 1/2" when extended.
All parts appear functional, and move fairly easily.
It is sold brass, very heavy, and has a base that is typical of microscopes from the 1880s to 1900.
Koritska microscopes are desirable, were constructed with precision and quality components, some using Zeiss lens.
There does not seem to be a serial number, only the maker's stamped mark on the base.
Some wear to lacquer, surface dirt and minor wear.
