Amy Kahn Russell is known for her use of a wide variety of gemstones, historical items, and unusual combinations and designs. Thr brooch is a nice example, and measures 2 1/2" high and 1 5/8" wide.
This brooch contains an rutilated quartz cabochon at the top, with a curved piece of carved fossilized mammoth tusk, with a small moonstone teardrop, a blue stone with crosshatching design (aquamarine?) and a small teardrop citrine with incised lines.
Set in sterling silver with stamped designs, it is signed on the back with her monogram AKR.
Has clasp with safety catch.
Wonderful blending of color and shapes, this brooch is beautifully crafted.
