Desk or mantle clock with bronze mounts on heavy crystal glass, with enamel face, likely French. Measures 8 1/4" to top of crest, and is 5 7/8" wide and 3" deep. Base is sold bronze rectangular shape with feet. Bronze applique mounts are on all four sides, around edges and on top. Figures on front depict women with putti or cupid, each carrying items that may represent the seasons of autumn and winter. The top crest features two swans on each side of an urn, with foliate details. All of the bronze mounts are very fine and well cast. Glass case is very heavy, one solid form with visible beveling on edges. The clock face is enamel with floral swags and gold details, and has opening for winding. The back has not been opened so we do not know the status of the working mechanism. Unsigned, is possibly an early Baccarat example, and is clearly crafted by a fine quality maker. Has minor signs of wear and usage, and has not been checked by a clock specialist, so is sold as is. Some minor bits of verdigris visible on bronze. Please see all photos for details and email any questions. Shipping via USPS or Fedex with tracking and insurance. Some shipping delays may occur.
