Kashan vessel in bright turquoise glaze over impressed designs, handle on one side. Measures 6 1/2" high x 6" across, and 2 1/2" diameter at top. Large size, with pierced handle and heavy turquoise crackled glaze. Impressed designs around the shoulder. Dates to 12th century, the Seljuk Empire, from region in present day Iran. Condition, visible hairline below shoulder area, though it is stable. The handle shows a visible fissure, so may have been restored, which is typical of ancient ceramic and pottery wares. The form, size and color are all artful and well made, a very striking example of early Kashan ware. Please see all photos for details and email any questions. Shipping via USPS.
