So much symbolism in this striking jewel! It depicts a crescent moon – symbol of the female principal, intuition and new beginnings; an arrow – symbol of swiftness (think: Katniss Everdeen and the TV show “Arrow”), Sagittarius, and sexual attraction (Cupid’s bow); and a 5-pointed star, symbolic of so many things we won’t even start! It is set with 11 turquoises (birthstone for December, believed to be good for healing and focus) and one seed pearl. The rose gold tests as 14kt. It me...

Here is a lovely pair of white gold-fronted double cuff links. Each end is marked WHITE GOLD FRONT BELAIS 14K; TALON GRIP TRADEMARK, and is octagonal, measuring 5/8” x 7/16”, with rigid connectors, hinged at one end. The Belais Brothers were amongst the first to develop a formula for white gold (their patent was for 1917). Many think they were the premier workers in white gold, and their jewels are highly collectible. These show some wear to the gold, with a bit of red metal (copper?) showin...

Here is a Victorian book chain, 17” long, with two spring rings. Men: use it for your pocket watch, in true Victorian style! Ladies, you can do the same, or use it for a locket or charm or whatever you like! Each link, which looks like a little book – hence the name - has a pattern stamped or carved into it. Some links show some wear consistent with age. It weighs 17.1g and is quite charming! The photos are a part of the description. Please look at them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling...

We love this necklace! It combines an Art Nouveau central panel set with a freshwater pearl and a sapphire-blue paste stone with an Etruscan-style fringe. Unmarked, it really looks like gold, however it tests as rolled gold or gold fill (we haven’t tested the fringe for fear of obvious damage). The central panel measures 1-1/4” x 1-1/4” including the dangles. In total, there are 11 graduated dangles, the longest being 3/4” and the shortest 3/8”. The total length is 16” (gold chain ex...

Here is a splendid locket depicting some sort of critter: zephyr? Lion? Some other mythological beast? He has a diamond in his mouth, and his eyes are red stones. Measuring 1-1/8”, weighing 9.5g, and marked 10k, he is set up for 2 photographs with both celluloid and photo rings. He's a somewhat rosy gold (NOTE that it is really hard to capture the color of the gold in photographs), has the maker’s mark for Kroll. In excellent condition and Circa 1900. Chain not included.) This extremely cool and very collectable brooch depicts 5 turbaned “blackamoors.” Made from (unmarked, tested) 14k rose gold, and black and white enamel, the details are picked out in gold (their eyes, mouths, collars and turbans). There is a partial hallmark on the pin, and old repair to the pin stem assembly (invisible from the front), and some damage to the black enamel, especially the two outer figures’ noses and the chin of the rightmost figure. The pin weighs 6.0g or .21oz, and it me...

Here is a lovely pendant/pin with a stylized motif of green to yellow enamel in a floral pattern reminiscent of the French fleur-de-lis. It is centered by a small diamond (approx. 5 points), and has a pearl-set modified starburst accenting the enameled “petals.” In 14k rose gold, it measures 1” in diameter at the widest point. The bale folds down neatly when it’s worn as a brooch. We have had the enamel touched up a bit at the edges, so it is now in excellent condition. Chain not include...

It is both a brooch and a pendant. The bale is on a swivel; it folds down neatly so that it’s invisible when worn as a brooch. Unmarked but tested 14k rose gold, about 33 pearls, and an approximately .02 full cut old diamond, slightly chipped. The jewel measures 1-1/16” in diameter and weighs 5.7g. Here is a very Victorian ring with pretty scrollwork on the shank. The center decoration is a horizontal row of seed pearls, and two red stones north and south. One stone is badly chipped, and both are abraded. One of them might be a doublet, but otherwise we don’t know what they are. It is stamped 10K, and is approximately a size 8. Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description so please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.

This Masonic-themed spoon is marked STERLING F.A. WHELAN. Both sides of the bowl, the hilt, and the tip are gold washed. It has lots of Masonic symbolism incorporated into the design. The dates on the spoon handle (1732-1799) are the birth and death dates for George Washington, who was a Mason. We were told that the spoon is approximately 100 years old. It measures 4-1/8", and weighs 10.9g. There is a tiny shallow scratch in the metal of the bowl, in the upper right corner of photo number 2, 1/1...

Although this jewel is English, it reflects the aesthetics of fin de siècle France and Russia, with its pink topazes and demantoid (green) garnets. The fairly large topazes are surrounded by swirls of seed-pearl-set gold, and set off by 4 bright green demantoid garnets, 2 of which are set into the fine chains which connect the top section to the bottom; of the other 2, the top one is a modified pear shape, the other oval. It measures 2” long by 1-1/8” across at the widest point, and weighs ...

Rubies symbolize devotion, love, and immortality. Pearls symbolize purity and harmony. What a great combination for these pretty earrings! They test as 10kt gold, although they are marked 375 for 9kt. The hanging flower basket motif is quite charming! They contain a total of 16 rubies and 18 seed pearls. The total length is 1-7/8”, and together they weight 4.3g. As usual with older earrings, it’s possible that the wires are replacements. In excellent condition. We believe they are Edwardia...
