Here is a very pretty 15kt yellow gold double-cluster ring: a cluster of pearls centered by a ruby, and a cluster of rubies centered by a diamond. In the center of each is a star motif (Star of David, perhaps?) in gold. Ruby is the birthstone for July. The ring is hallmarked for Birmingham, England and 15 karat gold, and a date mark for 1877, and also a maker’s mark for “P&E”. Size 7-1/2. One of the pearls may be a replacement, and one pearl prong is missing. Someone used tiny amounts of g...

This simple yet elegant gold washed lavalier evokes both the Nouveau and the Deco eras with its design. It measures 1-3/8” without the bale, and 1/2” at the widest point. It features 3 dark purple stones, which might be glass – we couldn’t identify them with certainty. The top stone’s facets are somewhat abraded, and there is wear to the metal. Circa 1920. The photos are part of the description, so please examine them with care. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance free within the U...

This plique a jour pendant is centered with an oval opal and accented with eight colorless brilliants and a fresh water pearl dropper. The translucent enamel is an unusual and lovely blue in color. Plique a jour, that unusual, difficult, and beautiful technique, dates from the 15th century. It was used by Cellini, then revived in the late 1800s in France. The metal frame in this lovely piece is 900 silver, suggesting that the piece is most likely German or Austrian in origin. Circa 1900.

Dainty and lovely, this enamel, pearl, and sapphire Art Nouveau stickpin is 14k gold and just plain beautiful. The pin is set with seed pearls and a faceted sapphire and the enamel shades from pink to green. The head of the pin is 1/2" and the pin itself 2" in length. Comes with a clutch to protect the end. [No matter how lovely the stickpin, it's bad if you stab yourself!] Circa 1900.

This piece is stunning! Some marriages are made in Heaven, and this is one. This brooch is a marriage of three Victorian elements: the bar pin with six diamonds, the enamel bow, and the heart-shaped enamel slide. The bow and slide appear to have been part of the same piece. The pin is 12 k gold, and the bow and slide 18 k. The bar pin is 1 3/4" long.

Here is a pretty French lavalier, which measures 1-1/8” (not including the jump ring) by 11/16”. It features 3 rose cut diamonds and 3 pearls. Marked only “DEPOSE” (translates roughly as “patented”), it tests as 18k. The stones are set in white metal, but it’s hard to tell whether it’s gold or platinum. 2.1g. We believe this used to be part of a larger piece, however, the transformation was done very skillfully, and it is in overall very good condition. There is a small dent on t...

Here is a beautiful ring which is unsigned, but attributed to Bernard Instone, one of the well-known Arts & Crafts era jewelers. He often used leaves-as-prongs in his ring settings, and as was often the way in the A&C movement, he didn’t use costly stones nor gold, so he could keep his prices affordable. This ring is made from sterling silver and set with a blue-green “Swiss lapis” (dyed quartz) which measures approximately 3/4” x 9/16”. It is about size 5-1/2, however due to the cons...

This pin is gold-filled and holds a coral branch. It is Victorian in age. The pin is 2" X 1/2". Circa 1860. Coral has been used in jewelry for thousands of years. It has been called Sea Garden because of its resemblance to a plant. Coral is used as protection from negativity and evil, and to dispel feelings of inner weakness.

This lovely sterling brush has a marquise-shaped porcelain insert with a blue and white Dutch windmill scene. It was manufactured by the Alvin Manufacturing Company of Providence, Rhode Island. This company, currently a division of Gorham, was founded in 1886 and was known for its sterling flatware, hollow ware, toilet ware, and novelties. The brush bears two marks for the company along with STERLING, 250 C, and Pat app for Pre 1920

Gentlemen: this terrific lion is just waiting to take his place on your tie or lapel! Made from unmarked but tested 14kt yellow gold, with tiny red stones for eyes, and a (cultured?) pearl in his jaws, he measures 7/16” x 1/2”. The findings are either a low-carat gold or gold filled. The lion himself weighs 1.5g, and the total weight is 4.1g. He probably began life as a stickpin, circa 1900, and is in excellent condition. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefull...

Amethyst? No. Glass. Gold? No. Gold fill. Do those facts mean this lavalier is any less lovely? No! This charming lavalier is both antique and eye-catching. The stone is amethyst-colored glass and the metal is gold-fill. The lavalier is not marked, but the 20" gold-filled chain bears the maker's mark for Bates & Bacon. The lavalier is 1 1/8 X 3/4", not including the fresh-water pearl dropper. Circa 1900.

Here is a very sweet ring, consisting of a flower made of 6 pearls (1 of which is a replacement), centered by a tiny rose cut diamond. There is a compartment underneath, perhaps for storing a tiny lock of hair, but the glass is gone. The ring tests as a very strong 14kt, so it is probably 15kt (and might be English). Cobalt blue enamel decorates the shoulders, which we’ve had touched up – this ring was obviously very well loved, and it’s still beautiful! Size 6. Early Victorian or late Geo...

A pretty necklace to liven any outfit! The bright turquoise in this lovely lavalier would be a bright accent for any outfit. The turquoise is an oval cabochon, and it is surrounded by gold 'ribbons' set with seed pearls. The use of 9 ct gold suggests an English origin but it is not hallmarked. It is is signed with the maker's mark SB & SLD in rounded rectangular lozenges. The lavalier comes with a 16" gold filled chain and is 1 1/4" X 1". Circa 1900.
