This Art Nouveau stickpin is both simple and simply attractive. It dates from about 1900. The artful knot of 14 k gold holds a small pearl. The pin is ~3" long, and it comes with a clutch to prevent accidental stabbings. ☺

Here is an intriguing pair of pins from the Art Nouveau era. They feature a woman’s face flanked by flowers, and the hair is greenish! We have been unable to determine what the metal is, so assume it’s not precious. They measure 1-1/4” x 1/2”. The pin stem assemblies are old, but they may be replacements. Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.

Here is a very pretty lavalier or pendant, with enamel on both sides - unusual for Arts & Crafts pieces. The front has a central panel in a beautiful peacock blue, and 2 outer panels in the shape of stylized hearts, in a darker blue. The back is sky-blue (somewhat worn at a few of the high points). There is a freshwater pearl drop. It weighs 2.1g and measures 1-5/8” from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pearl...

Here is a shield-shaped sorority pin (9/16 x 1/2”), with 16 tiny seed pearls set around the perimeter, and 3 colored stones. The 2 upper stones are emerald green, the bottom one is sapphire blue. They are too tiny to identify with certainty. The shield is crossed by a band of white enamel bisecting a background of black enamel. On the band are the Greek letters Kappa Phi, and in gold on one side is a candle stick and on the other is a flower...

Here is a lovely Victorian cameo, set in flourishes of yellow gold and decorated with 4 pearls. The background is a slightly darker pink than the lady. The attention to detail in the carving is very nice, and she is in excellent condition. There is one missing pearl, but it’s unnoticeable. It seems to say “SIG” in script across the back. The bale is signed with “10K” inside what looks like a stylized “C”. It measures 1-13/16” not including the bail, by 1”...

Here is a sweet little pendant or charm made by Jean-Baptiste-Emile Dropsy, one of the famous French medalists. The design was usually made out of a heavy gold plate, but this one is 18kt rosy gold. Signed by Dropsy on the front, as is usual with French medals, it measures 1/2” in diameter (with the jump ring, 7/8”), and weighs 1.5g. In excellent condition, showing a gentle patina, and circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! We do lay-away...

This spirited fixe gryphon clutches a protective shield with clawed feet. His tail curls through the fanciful edges of the shield. Altogether a delightful companion to ornament a jacket or other garment. The trombone catch is a replacement but the old-style tube hinge is original. The 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" pin is marked FIX and is Art Nouveau in age, circa 1900.

Here is a serene lady with water lilies or lotuses in her hair. (The lotus, a variety of water lily, has symbolized purity, enlightenment, and resurrection.) This lady is remarkably similar to a piece made by the Unger Bros., but marked only STERLING – and the stamp is reversed! We believe her to be a copy, but still made around 1900 – this seemed to have happened fairly frequently back in the day...

Here is a fascinating stick pin, depicting a crescent moon – symbol of the female principal, intuition and new beginnings (and doesn’t that sound great!); an arrow – symbol of swiftness, Sagittarius, and sexual attraction (Cupid’s bow!); and a 5-pointed star, symbolic of so many things we won’t even start! It is set with 11 turquoises (birthstone for December, believed to be good for healing and focus), and one seed pearl. The rose gold tests as 14kt...

Coral has been used in jewelry for thousands of years. It has been called Sea Garden because of its resemblance to a plant. Coral is used as protection from negativity and evil, and to dispel feelings of inner weakness. This pin is 14k gold and holds a coral branch. It is Victorian in age and has maker's mark, BML. The pin is 2" X 1/2". Circa 1860.

This bangle bracelet is quintessentially Victorian. It is a hinged bangle made in the crossover style, with an ornamented top. The rectangular box ornament on top is flanked by a half-circle ornament on either side. It is gold filled, with moderately worn plating and dates from the late 1800s or very early 1900s. It is unmarked.

Here is a 9kt yellow gold necklace which is centered by a dark red garnet, probably a spessartite. Garnets are the birthstone for January, and were traditionally thought to keep travelers safe – especially good right now, when travel is beginning to open up again! The dangle is set with a blister pearl of a mellow off-white color. There are 3 tiny seed pearls in the main setting...

This elegant ring comes right out of the Art Deco era of Downton Abbey, The Great Gatsby, etc. The diamond is a very sparkly “transitional” cut diamond (a style that came between old European cut and modern round brilliant cut). It weighs approximately .63, the color is in the JKL range, and it is just really pretty. We don’t really know how to photograph diamonds, so the photos don’t do it justice. The diamond is set in platinum, and the ring shank is (stamped) 14k gold...

Here is a very pretty 15kt yellow gold double-cluster ring: a cluster of pearls centered by a ruby, and a cluster of rubies centered by a diamond. In the center of each is a star motif (Star of David, perhaps?) in gold. Ruby is the birthstone for July. The ring is hallmarked for Birmingham, England and 15 karat gold, and a date mark for 1877, and also a maker’s mark for “P&E”. Size 7-1/2. One of the pearls may be a replacement, and one pearl prong is missing...

Here is a sweet ring made from 10kt (marked and tested) yellow gold, with a marquise or navette-shaped ruby flanked by two tiny accent diamonds. (Ruby is the birthstone for July, and is a symbol of love, devotion, and immortality – it just doesn’t get any better than that!) It also has a maker’s mark, which is either “QI” or “OJ”. The 2 diamonds are set in white metal – it’s not possible to tell whether the metal is platinum or silver. It’s size six and could be sized. The ph...

So 1950s in style! Frankly costume jewelry but so very pretty. Gold-toned metal has a brushed finish that looks far more expensive than it is and forms the perfect background for flower shapes of sparkly golden brown rhinestones. If you like vintage style, this is definitely for you! The necklace is 16” long and is made up of 16 links, each a gold metal ribbon caught up with a flower of 7 golden brown rhinestones. Matching clip earrings, 1 ¼” long, are yellow metal oval ‘ribbons’ ...
