This beautiful Art Nouveau dragon doesn't hoard treasure--he is a treasure! The pin is 18 k gold (tested). The wings are edged in 7 rose-cut diamonds each and his tail is tipped with more rose-cut diamonds. He holds an Old English cut diamond in his beak. The pin is 1 3/8” X 1 ¼”. It has an early-style safety catch. The hinge is a replacement. There are no marks. Circa 1900.

Here is an elegant and beautiful ring made from unmarked but tested 18k yellow gold and a pretty purplish-pink topaz. The ring is a size 8, and could be resized. The topaz is set in a modified buttercup setting, with a single golden leaf curling up to meet the stone on either side, and with delicate detail work in the gold. In excellent condition. Topaz is thought to be a healing and energizing stone, to bring forgiveness, and promote truth...

Here is a pendant featuring a large amethyst, measuring about 10mm across. It is set in a framework of bright gold leaves that brings to mind the Arts and Crafts era, with another leaf on the bale, and a fringe of tiny seed pearls dangling below – sweet! From the top of the bale to the bottom of the fringe it measures 1-1/2”, and from side to side it is 3/4” at the widest points. It is marked and tested 14k gold and weighs 1.8g...

How very Art Nouveau with its lovely lady and sweeping tresses! This 14 k gold bar pin is 1 3/4 by 3/8 inch in size. The classic Art Nouveau lady has long, flowing tresses that blow in the wind. It is late 19th or early 20th century and was made by the Krementz company. The round hinge and C clasp suggest the earlier date.

Gold and Pearl Art Nouveau Stickpin Simple and simply attractive. This Art Nouveau stickpin dates from about 1900. The artful knot of 14 k gold holds a small pearl. The pin is ~3" long, and it comes with a clutch to prevent accidental stabbings. :-)

Here is a lovely and very detailed garland or swag necklace featuring a heart with wings, symbolic of love and openness. The heart is enameled in green with orange highlights, and it and the wings are set with seed pearls. Above are gold curlicues, and below is a (tested) diamond dropper. It’s got a faint 10k mark on the back, but tests as 14k (this is not unusual). The spring ring is marked Gold Filled, but the chain tests for 14k, so it’s probably a replacement...

Here is a pair of simple yet very pretty earrings, which can be worn with just about anything. The citrines are set in 14k gold and measure about 6mm or 1/8” in diameter. The earrings weigh 1.1g. They are stamped 14k, and have a stylized maker’s mark which could be “MP”; they are also stamped “CZ” for some reason. We have tested the stones and they are definitely citrines. Citrines are the birthstone for November, along with topaz...

Here is a longer than usual – 2-1/4” x 1/2” – bar pin. The fancy engraving is highlighted by black enamel, and the pin is centered by a faux pearl. The central element makes us think of a gear – this would be great to wear to a Steampunk event! It shows some wear, but it’s very pretty. The clasp might be a replacement, but if so, it’s an old repair. The photos are part of the description. Please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance free within the USA.

Stick pins are pins similar to small dressmaker pins, except that they are longer and often have quite ornamental tops to them. Scarf and stick pins have been popular for well over 200 years, dating back to the 18th century, where they were worn by gentlemen of the establishment. This beautiful stickpin is made of (stamped) 14kt white gold and is set with an unidentified colorless gemstone - not diamond or one of the common substitutes for diamond. Not glass or plastic - it's a real stone...

Here is an adorable stick pin! The pin is unmarked, but the gold tests at about 12k. The total length is 2-1/8”, the dog’s face is 1/2” x 7/16”, and it weighs 0.9g. He may be a Weimaraner. They were bred as hunting dogs in the early 1800s in Germany, and were named after the Grand Duke Weimar. In real life they are a silvery color, but this guy is a nice warm gold...

Coral has been used in jewelry for thousands of years. It has been called Sea Garden because of its resemblance to a plant. Coral is used as protection from negativity and evil, and to dispel feelings of inner weakness. This pin is 14k gold and holds a coral branch. It is Victorian in age and has maker's mark, BML. The pin is 2" X 1/2". Circa 1860.

This barrette is sure to attract admiring attention. The flowing, sinuous lines are SO Art Nouveau, and it's an unusual piece. It has a maker's mark which looks like the K used by Kohn & Company, a Newark, NJ manufacturer of gold jewelry. The company used the K mark in 1922 and 1931 advertisements

Here is a simple and elegant stickpin with a stylized flower design, based on a Japanese family crest. It is marked “k20” on the back, and tests as a very strong 20kt. The flower head measures 1/2 x 7/8”, and the whole pin is 2-1/2” long. It weighs 2.4g. The pin is a bit bent, not surprisingly given the high gold content (please see photos), and course that can’t be seen when it’s worn. Otherwise in excellent condition. Circa 1900...

Here is a simple but beautiful stick pin, featuring an oval of pale pink “angel skin” coral, measuring 9/16” x 3/8”. The whole thing is 2-7/8” long. Unmarked, it tests as 14k gold. The setting has a waving edge, and cut-outs to show off the coral along the sides. Pink coral is said to restore harmony to the heart. It weighs 3.0g...

Here is a very special necklace, combining an Art Nouveau central panel set with a freshwater pearl and a sapphire-blue paste stone with an Etruscan-style fringe. Unmarked, it really looks like gold, however it tests as rolled gold or gold fill (we didn’t test the fringe for fear of obvious damage). The central panel measures 1-1/4” x 1-1/4” including the dangles. In total, there are 11 graduated dangles or drops, the longest being 3/4” and the shortest 3/8”. The total length is 16” ...

Here is a terrific ring centered by a navette-shaped lapis lazuli (traditionally a stone of royalty, also signifying truth and inner strength), with specks of pyrite for a bit of sparkle. The stone measures 3/4” N to S, and 1/4” E to W. The setting is made of 14kt yellow gold, formed into graceful curlicues. It is stamped 14k, and also has a maker’s mark, which appears to be “KBN” and also a dot in a circle. The size is between 5-1/4 and 5-1/2, and it weighs 5.5g. Based on an old desig...

If this gorgeous ring fit me, I'd be keeping it. (Of course it could be resized. Hmmm. ☺) The design is surprisingly modern but it is genuinely pre 1900. Two faceted rubies are set off by three seed pearls, with each gem surrounded by a square bezel. It has English hallmarks for Chester [England], 1865-6, and 15 carat gold, as well as a maker's mark of BHJ. The ring is a size 7.

This striking jewel tests as a very strong 14kt, so it’s probably 15kt, and from England. It is set with what we are pretty sure is an iolite (hard to test because of the setting), and 4 pear-shaped purple garnets, all foiled, all set within an Etruscan Revival motif of coiling snake-like decorated gold ropes and leaves, with two dangling gold chains. The brooch measures 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 x 3/4" deep and weighs 8.7g. With the chains, the whole piece measures 2-1/2” long. The pin stem assembly se...
