Here is a splendid locket depicting some sort of creature: zephyr? Lion? Or some other mythological critter? He has a diamond in his mouth, and his eyes are red stones (too small to ID). Measuring 1-1/8”, weighing 9.5g, and marked 10k, he is set up for 2 photographs with both celluloid and photo rings. He's a somewhat rosy gold (NOTE that it was really hard to capture the color of the gold in the photographs), and has the maker’s mark for Kroll. In excellent condition and circa 1900...

Here is an interesting beetle stick pin. Perfect for your lapel, the beetle is in very good condition (though the pin is slightly bent), and is set in unmarked but tested 14k rose gold. The beetle itself is 9/16” x 7/16” at the widest points, and is held firmly in place by 4 prongs. The whole thing is 2-3/4” long. The Victorians loved to use organic things in their jewelry, including real beetles. This particular type seems to have been a favorite...

This pretty pin is so Art Nouveau! A lady’s face is surrounded by ribbons and flourishes, some set with seed pearls. It is gold filled, and measures 1-1/8” x 7/8”. Her nose and chin show some wear, and it has a patina consistent with age. The pin stem assembly is mounted in a somewhat unusual fashion – please see photos. Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA is included.

This elegant ring comes right out of the Art Deco era of Downton Abbey, The Great Gatsby, etc. The diamond is a very sparkly “transitional” cut diamond (a style that came between old European cut and modern round brilliant cut). It weighs approximately .63, the color is in the JKL range, and it is just really pretty. We don’t really know how to photograph diamonds, so the photos don’t do it justice. The diamond is set in platinum, and the ring shank is (stamped) 14k gold...

This cheerful brooch depicts a red poppy in full bloom, with buds and leaves. It was made by the well-known Bippart Griscomb & Osborn Company of Newark, New Jersey. It is also stamped for “14k”. Measuring 1” x 1-1/4”, it has the long pin stem often found on antique jewels. There is an interestingly-shaped pearl mounted at the top, and another dangling below. Poppies have symbolized peace, sleep (remember Dorothy crossing the field in The Wizard of Oz?), and resurrection...

Here is an English pin featuring a large peridot (1 cm x 6 mm or 3/8” x 2/8”), and, on either side, seed pearl-set gold shamrocks. Flanking those are 3 green garnets (demantoids) per side, plus 1 above and 1 below the peridot. Peridot symbolizes spring and youthfulness, and it is said to bring wealth and health. On either side is an Art Nouveau whiplash of gold with more pearls. Stamped 15ct. The brooch weighs 5.1 g and measures 1-9/16” x 5/8”...

Here is a petit pin which has a lotus or water lily motif highlighted by a tiny seed pearl. (The lotus is a symbol of purity and enlightenment, especially to Buddhists.) It is unmarked but tests as 10kt gold. It measures 1-1/8”, and weighs in at 0.04 oz. It would look lovely on a lapel or blouse. Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.

This elegant lady is made from 14k gold – there is a partial mark, so we tested it to be sure. Her face is framed by a stylized shell motif, and she has flowers and a diamond in her upswept hair, as well as another diamond nestled in her décolletage. This watch pin or brooch is of hollow construction, and weighs 4.7g. It measures 1” x 1-1/4”. The pin stem assembly is original. Her face is a little worn in the high places, as is usual, and the back has darkened in a couple places...

Here is a pair of simple yet very pretty earrings, which can be worn with just about anything. The citrines are set in 14k gold and measure about 6mm or 1/8” in diameter. The earrings weigh 1.1g. They are stamped 14k, and have a stylized maker’s mark which could be “MP”; they are also stamped “CZ” for some reason. We have tested the stones and they are definitely citrines. Citrines are the birthstone for November, along with topaz...

Here is a classy brooch combining the styles of Edwardian and Art Nouveau jewelry, and is remarkably similar to a piece by Whiteside & Blank that we’ve seen with the W&B maker’s mark; however it is unsigned (not unusual for the time). The pin consists of a gold framework enameled in palest green, in a formal Edwardian key pattern. In the middle is a sprig of leaves with a pearl berry; the stem twines around the framework in the Nouveau style. An interesting juxtaposition. There are 3 additi...

Here is a pair of identical gold pins made from a richly colored yellow gold. They would be an excellent addition to your collection of Victorian jewelry! Measuring 1-1/4” x 1/4”, they say “BEBE” on the front. They test as 9k, weigh 3.0 g, and the findings are signed “VID”. There are tiny flowers and other floral designs at the edges. It looks like the safety-pin findings are old replacements. One of them has 2 brownish stains on the back, otherwise they are in excellent condition. T...

A bit of history for your lapel! During the Victorian era, every young gentleman had to make his Grand Tour, picking up souvenirs along the way. Lava cameos (actually made from a very fine-textured limestone) made into jewelry were highly sought after. This Victorian lava cameo is mounted in a 14 k gold stickpin. The cameo and mounting are 3/8" in height; overall length of the pin is 2 5/8". A clutch will be supplied with the pin.

Here is a pair of very unusual cuff links! We have only seen one other pair with photos. Each cuff link has a photograph of an elegant lady in a white high-necked blouse with upswept hair. These were clearly worn a lot, based on the patina, but they still look great. The 10k marks are on the back of the fronts only, not on the “torpedo” ends, and we don’t like to test torpedoes, so can’t promise that they are also 10k, but they certainly look it. The fronts measure 7/8” x 5/8”, the t...

Here is a pretty ring, composed of 7 amethysts, birthstone for February (and in legend, thought to guard against poison) and on either side of the cluster, a bezel-set accent diamond and one tiny half seed pearl. The ring is approximately size 6.5, and would be easy to re-size. It is marked 10K and signed “ECI”. In excellent condition, with just a bit of patina. The gold is yellow, despite looking rosy in the photos. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. We ...
