Amethysts were traditionally thought to aid in clarity of mind, putting the wearer in touch with their intuitions. This large amethyst should work a treat, measuring 10mm across. It is set in a framework of leaves that bring to mind the Arts and Crafts era, with another leaf on the bale, and a fringe of tiny seed pearls dangles below. It is marked and tested 14k gold and weighs 1.8g. I believe it was made during the 1960s, but am not sure – it could be earlier...

This stunner is made from a magical moonstone with a cat’s eye across the top. The subtle color floats in the stone, making it mesmerizing to look at (we couldn’t do it justice in the photos). Moonstones have been symbolic of passion, but also intuition and good fortune. The setting is Celtic interlace, or “entrelac.” Murrle, Bennett created designs for Liberty & Co., as well as producing their own line of jewelry, from 1884 – 1916. The back has M, B’s maker’s mark as well as a hal...
