Here is a stickpin featuring a scrumptious caramel-colored oval carnelian, set in 10kt gold and surrounded by an oval of gold set with 4 seed pearls. It is marked 10kt. The setting measures 13/16” x 1/2", and the whole thing 2-3/8". The pin has a bit of a bend to it toward the top, not visible when it’s worn, otherwise in excellent antique condition. The photos are part of the description. Please look at them carefully. Thanks! We do lay-away...

Here is a lovely and nicely detailed garland necklace featuring a heart with wings, symbolic of love and openness. The heart has green enamel with orange highlights, and it and the wings are set with seed pearls. Above are gold curlicues, and below is a (tested) diamond dropper. It’s got a faint 10k mark on the back, but tests as 14k (this is not uncommon). The spring ring is marked Gold Filled, but the chain tests for 14k, so it’s probably a replacement...

This Edwardian/Art Nouveau necklace would be perfect for a bride … or anyone, really, at any time! It measures 1-1/4” at the widest point, and from the top-most diamond to the bottom of the dropper it is 2-1/4”. The dropper is a dogtooth pearl, 11/16” long, which has a collar of gold around it, set with 3 diamonds, and swirls of gold holding 4 more little pearls. The “wow” factor is terrific! The main section features 3 more tiny diamonds and 50+ seed pearls...

Here is an adorable stick pin! The pin is unmarked, but the gold tests at about 12k. The total length is 2-1/8”, the dog’s face is 1/2” x 7/16”, and it weighs 0.9g. He may be a Weimaraner. They were bred as hunting dogs in the early 1800s in Germany, and were named after the Grand Duke Weimar. In real life they are a silvery color, but this guy is a nice warm gold...

Here is a very pretty watch pin made of marked and tested 14k gold, many seed pearls, and 2 accent diamonds. It has a vine and leaves motif, and 2 little flowers with heart-shaped petals, and we think it’s just beautiful. It measures 1-1/8 x 1-1/4" and weighs in at 6.9g. One seed pearl was missing, so we had it replaced. The pin stem assembly is original. In excellent condition, and circa 1910. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully...

This handsome fellow’s head measures 5/8 x 11/16". He is made from 14kt yellow gold (there are illegible marks, so we tested it). The red eye is too small to identify, so assume glass. It weighs 1.4g and is in excellent condition. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included. We do lay-away.

Here is a very elegant brooch, featuring a large amethyst surrounded by a row of seed pearls, which are in turn surrounded by an enameled key pattern. Marked 14k, and signed by the Riker Bros. of Newark, NJ, it measures 1-3/16” x 13/16” and weighs 8.0g. It is in excellent condition overall, but with a very small ding to the upper left edge, and very tiny pitting in the enamel, which isn’t visible without magnification (or enlarged photos!)...

Here is one of our very favorite rings. It would make a great engagement ring for a woman who wants something a bit different. Also great for Christmas, St. Patrick’s, or really any other time! The central diamond is approximately 20 points (1/5 of a carat, but looks bigger), and is set in platinum. The rest of the setting is made of unmarked but tested 14k gold of a lovely rich yellow. There are 4 tiny rubies and 3 tiny green demantoid garnets...

This elegant sterling silver fancy-link chain from the era of the Titanic (but possibly as late as the Art Deco period: Downton Abbey! The Great Gatsby!), is interesting enough to be worn on its own, or you could hang a pendant or watch from it. The clasp is stamped “Sterling”. It measures 26”, and the links are 1/4” or 4mm wide at the widest point. It weighs 5.6g, and is in excellent condition. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! Antique plique a jour (translucent enamel) jewels are hard to come by these days – they are somewhat fragile, rare, and we believe that many of them are now in private collections. This lovely maple leaf pin is highlighted with paste accent stones along the main veins. The green plique is a very nice rich color. It seems to be missing one leaf. However, someone filled the space with a pretty drop made of green agate, so the loss is hardly noticeable. It is centered by a faux pearl. The plique ...

Here is a graceful garland or festoon necklace composed of seed pearls set in 10 kt gold, with two pearls built into the draping chains, and a pearl dangle. The whole thing measures 14-5/8” (we have gold necklace extenders if that’s too short). The decorated section measures 1-1/4” x 3/4” including the dangle. It is in excellent condition. One seed pearl is missing, but it’s really hard to tell - we only noticed when examining it under the microscope. Circa 1910 – it would have been ...

Here is a pretty woman’s face in profile. Her long golden hair trails down to end with a tiny baroque or freshwater pearl. Total length of the face, hair and pearl a little less than 3/4”. This design was based on a drawing by Charles Dana Gibson – a Gibson Girl! (See the final photograph.) It is marked 14k, weighs 1.2g, and is in excellent condition. It doesn’t have a maker’s mark, but we have seen this same stick pin with Alling’s mark. Circa 1910. The photos are part of the descr...

Here is a sweet brooch or pin in the shape of a bow, made from blue and turquoise plique a jour with twisted wire work running through it. (The colors in the photographs may be deceptive, depending on your computer monitor). The (translucent) enamel over the wire spirals is turquoise, and the rest is a medium blue. Measuring 1-1/4” x 7/8", it weighs 3.1g. On the back it is marked with “800”, and an illegible (maker’s?) mark. We believe it is Italian. The silver on the front has a gold wa...

Rubies symbolize love and immortality. Pearls symbolize purity and harmony. What a great combination for these pretty earrings! They test as 10kt gold, although they are marked 375 for 9kt. The hanging flower basket motif is quite charming. They contain a total of 16 rubies and 18 seed pearls. The total length is 1-7/8”, and together they weight 4.3g. As is often the case with older earrings, it’s possible that the wires are replacements. In excellent condition. We believe they are Edwardi...

The coin tests as silver, probably sterling (it can be hard to tell). On one side is the face of Friedrich (presumably) and his wife, a Maltese cross, and the words “FRIEDRICH * I * 1701 * WILHELM * II * 1901”, on the other side is an eagle with a crown above, and “DEUTSCHES REICH 1901 ZWEI MARK”. The rest is white metal. The swivel clasp has a mark, which looks like a plow. We haven’t been able to track it down. The coin and split ring weigh approximately .40oz, and the whole thing .9...

Here is a lovely pendant/pin with a stylized floral motif using green-to-yellow enamel in a design reminiscent of the French fleur-de-lis. It is centered by a small diamond (approx. 5 points), and has a pearl-set modified starburst accenting the enameled “petals.” In 14k rose gold, it measures 1” in diameter at the widest point. The bale folds down nicely when it’s worn as a brooch. We had the enamel touched up a bit at the edges, so it is now in excellent condition. Chain not included. ...

This brooch combines the styles of Edwardian and Art Nouveau jewelry, and is remarkably similar to a couple of pieces by Whiteside & Blank that we’ve seen with the W&B maker’s mark; however it is unsigned (not unusual for the time). The pin consists of a framework enameled in palest green (almost white), in a formal Edwardian key pattern. In the middle is a sprig of leaves with a pearl berry; the stem twines around the framework in the Nouveau style. An interesting juxtaposition. There are ...
