Here is a pretty French lavalier, which measures 1-1/8” (not including the jump ring) by 11/16”. It features 3 rose cut diamonds and 3 pearls. Marked only “DEPOSE” (translates roughly as “patented”), it tests as 18k. The stones are set in white metal, but it’s hard to tell whether it’s gold or platinum. 2.1g. We believe this used to be part of a larger piece, however, the transformation was done very skillfully, and it is in overall very good condition...

Here is a delightful lioness with emerald-green glass eyes, and a diamond in her mouth. The detailing of her face – whiskers, mane, etc. - are very nicely done. She is made from unmarked but tested 14kt yellow gold. Her head measures 1/2” x 5/8”, and the total length is 2-3/4”. The pin is very straight, which is somewhat unusual! In excellent antique condition. Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description. Please examine them carefully. Thanks! We do lay-away...

Here is a lovely Victorian cameo, set in flourishes of yellow gold and decorated with 4 pearls. The background is a slightly darker pink than the lady. The attention to detail in the carving is very nice, and she is in excellent condition. There is one missing pearl, but it’s unnoticeable. It seems to say “SIG” in script across the back. The bale is signed with “10K” inside what looks like a stylized “C”. It measures 1-13/16” not including the bail, by 1”...

Here is a pair of very unusual cuff links! We have only seen one other pair with photos. Each cuff link has a photograph of an elegant lady in a white high-necked blouse with upswept hair. These were clearly worn a lot, based on the patina, but they still look great. The 10k marks are on the back of the fronts only, not on the “torpedo” ends, and we don’t like to test torpedoes, so can’t promise that they are also 10k, but they certainly look it...

Here is a small gold-filled Victorian or Edwardian fretwork pin. It measures 15/16” x 7/8”. Somewhat worn in places, but still very pretty. Oddly, the watch hanger tests as 10k. Signed SIMMONS and RFS & Co (for the R.F. Simmons Co. of Attleboro, MA). Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! A charming crescent pin that is very Victorian, with a seed pearl crescent supporting two seed pearl studded hearts. The hallmark is incomplete; the marks for Birmingham and England are present, along with an unidentified mark. There is no date stamp. The 2" wide pin appears to be circa 1890 and it is 14 k gold.

A bit of history! This charming 14 k gold pin sports an enameled flag, initials, thee number five, and the date 1860. The pin is 1 X 1/1/2" in size and is an homage to the Daughters of Liberty, which was formed ~1766, shortly after formation of The Sons of Liberty. This group of brave women boycotted British products and made use of traditional women's skills such as weaving and spinning, to support the cause of liberty.

Here is a fascinating ring consisting of strands of rose gold tied in a knot, and studded with gold balls. One ball is missing, which makes it pleasantly asymmetrical (it took us a while to realize that it wasn’t actually made that way!). The decorated area measures 5/8 x 1/2” and the shank measures 3/16”. The ring has a maker’s mark (“J.M”), the anchor for Birmingham, the date mark for 1903-4, “9”, and “375”, however it tests as 10k...

This pin is 14k gold and holds a coral branch. It is Victorian in age and has maker's mark, BML. The pin is 2" X 1/2". Circa 1860. Coral has been used in jewelry for thousands of years. It has been called Sea Garden because of its resemblance to a plant. Coral is used as protection from negativity and evil, and to dispel feelings of inner weakness.

Here is a pair of identical gold pins made from a richly colored yellow gold. They would be an excellent addition to your collection of Victorian jewelry! Measuring 1-1/4” x 1/4”, they say “BEBE” on the front. They test as 9k, weigh 3.0 g, and the findings are signed “VID”. There are tiny flowers and other floral designs at the edges. It looks like the safety-pin findings are old replacements. One of them has 2 brownish stains on the back, otherwise they are in excellent condition...

This lovely slide bracelet has 11 (10K & 14k) gold slides, some of which have opals and seed pearls and what looks like coral. The central slide depicts a beautiful Art Nouveau flower. The clasp is gold filled or 9k, the gold paperclip chain tests as 10k, but the round beads are hard to test beyond confirming that they are gold. One slide has a 14k hallmark and a maker’s mark, and one other has a maker’s mark, which looks like an oak leaf...

Emeralds (birthstone for May) have been thought to preserve love and bring wisdom. These sweet bright green emerald earrings are unmarked, but the gold tests as 14kt. They are 13/16” long, and the buttercup settings measure 1/2” across. The stones measure 5-1/2mm across. I believe the ear wires used to have hooks to slip into, but those are gone and the stubs smoothed over for comfort. One of the emeralds is chipped in the back, but both stones face up well. The gold shows a nice patina and ...

Here is a very elegant band, with a continuous wheat sheaf pattern (wheat signifies love and charity). It was made at the turn of the last century, according to jewelry historian Christie Romero (RIP). She also told us it was probably made using a process called “die rolling.” It is marked “22ct”, “PLATINUM” (the platinum is under the gold, as you can see in the photos), and the maker’s mark is “B’s”. It is size 5-1/4 plus a little, and it cannot be sized. 5.6 grams. It is i...

A bit of history for your lapel! During the Victorian era, every young gentleman had to make his Grand Tour, picking up souvenirs along the way. Lava cameos (actually made from a very fine-textured limestone) made into jewelry were highly sought after. This Victorian lava cameo is mounted in a 14 k gold stickpin. The cameo and mounting are 3/8" in height; overall length of the pin is 2 5/8". A clutch will be supplied with the pin.

Here is a very classic brooch, in the style of Lucien Gautrait, featuring a ribbon and flower motif, with a ring of white enamel in the center. The pearl on the dangle may be a replacement (many dangles have had to be replaced over the years). The brooch is marked with the French eagle for 18k gold and partial owl marks with “73”, indicating a piece that was imported into France post 1893 and assayed in the town of Rouen. There is also what looks like a blurry French maker’s mark, so the m...

Here is a beautiful 15kt yellow gold double-cluster ring: a cluster of pearls centered by a ruby, and a cluster of rubies centered by a diamond. In the center of each is a Star of David motif in gold. Ruby is the birthstone for July. The ring is hallmarked for Birmingham, England and 15 karat gold, and a date mark for 1877, and also a maker’s mark for “P&E”. Size 7-1/2. One of the pearls may be a replacement, and one prong is missing. Someone used tiny amounts of glue (only visible with ma...
