This gorgeous old Victorian brooch is in the shape of a love knot, and was probably a wedding gift to a bride. It consists of 50 old-cut diamonds, 5 rubies, and 3 rosy-colored pearls, all mounted on silver-topped rose gold. Weighing in at 5.7 g, it measures 1-3/4” x 7/8”...

This pair of identical rich yellow gold pins would be an excellent addition to your collection of Victorian jewelry! 1-1/4” x 1/4”, they say “BEBE” on the front. They test as 9k, weigh 3.0 g, and the findings are signed “VID”. There are tiny flowers and floral designs at the edges. It looks like the findings are old replacements. One of them has 2 brownish stains on the back, otherwise in excellent condition...

Here is a lovely gold quartz (also called “gold-in-quartz” and “gold-bearing quartz”) brooch from the Victorian era. Gold-in-quartz is rare and becoming more so! It’s our understanding that it is now found in very few places in the world – possibly only one mine in California. The 14k setting has twisted gold on top of a carved gold oval. It measures 1-3/8 x 1-1/8" and weighs 6.8g. The pin assembly has been replaced. In excellent condition...

During the Victorian era, every young gentleman had to make his Grand Tour, picking up souvenirs along the way. Lava cameos (actually made from a very fine-textured limestone) made into jewelry were highly sought after. This Victorian lava cameo stickpin is 14 k gold. The cameo and mounting are 3/8" in height; overall length of the pin is 2 5/8". A clutch will be supplied with the pin.

These lovely earrings have nice long dangles – the entire earring measures 1-3/4 long, and the dangle is 1-5/16”. They measure just under 1/2” at the widest point. The dangles have a charming bird and flower motif. They are black enamel and gold plate. I have been told that earrings like this pair were made during the Victorian era in Portugal and Spain, and that they are still being made in those countries today. These look old to me, but in excellent condition...

This Victorian watch chain is 12" long. It has wonderfully simple curb links and a good heft. There's a small section of chain ending in a loop that could hold a fob. It tests as 10-11 k gold and weighs a hefty 0.91 ounces. (Gold is currently over $1200 per ounce.) Circa 1890.

This is a classic Victorian pin/necklace in a pinwheel design, with 9 lovely bright dark purple garnet and glass doublets (standing in for amethysts, probably at a time when real amethysts were quite rare and expensive), and lots of seed pearls. It has both a pin stem assembly for use as a brooch, and a jump ring for a chain. Stamped 10k on the clasp...

Here is a fascinating ring consisting of strands of rose gold tied in a knot, and studded with gold balls. One ball is missing, which makes it pleasantly asymmetrical (it took us a while to realize that it wasn’t made that way!). The decorated area measures 5/8 x 1/2” and the shank measures 3/16”. The ring has a maker’s mark (“J.M”), the anchor for Birmingham, the date mark for 1903-4, “9”, and “375”, however it tests as 10k. It’s approximately size 7, and weighs 5.2g...

This beetle is in very good condition (though the pin is slightly bent), and is set in unmarked but tested 14k rose gold. The beetle itself is 9/16” x 7/16” at the widest point, and is held firmly in place by 4 prongs. The whole thing is 2-3/4” long. The Victorians loved to use organic things in their jewelry, including real beetles. This particular type seems to have been a favorite. They are very collectible! We have been told they are late Victorian, so probably Circa 1880...

This is a lovely French lavalier, measuring 1-1/8” (not including the jump ring) by 11/16”. It features 3 rose cut diamonds and 3 (cultured?) pearls. Marked only “DEPOSE” (translates roughly as “patented”), it tests as 18k. The stones are set in white metal, but it’s hard to tell what kind – most likely either gold or platinum. 2.1g. We believe this used to be part of a larger piece, however, the transformation was done very skillfully, and it is in overall very good condition. T...

Perfect for a wedding, here is a very pretty starburst pin/necklace, made from 14k gold (marked and tested), set with seed pearls, and with an old European cut diamond in the center. It has a maker’s mark in the shape of a Maltese cross. Measuring 1-1/8”, it weighs 6g. The bail folds down nicely for wearing as a necklace. The 18” chain is gold filled, and not original to the piece. It comes with an antique dark blue velvet box. The photos are part of the description; please examine them c...

This extremely cool and very collectable brooch depicts 5 turbaned “blackamoors.” Made from (unmarked, tested) 14k rose gold, and black and white enamel, the details are picked out in gold (their eyes, mouths, collars and turbans). There is a partial hallmark on the pin, and old repair to the pin stem assembly (invisible from the front), and some damage to the black enamel, especially the two outer figures’ noses and the chin of the rightmost figure. The pin weighs 6.0g or .21oz, and it me...
