Here is a fascinating ring consisting of strands of rose gold tied in a knot, and studded with gold balls. One ball is missing, which makes it pleasantly asymmetrical (it took us a while to realize that it wasn’t actually made that way!). The decorated area measures 5/8 x 1/2” and the shank measures 3/16”. The ring has a maker’s mark (“J.M”), the anchor for Birmingham, the date mark for 1903-4, “9”, and “375”, however it tests as 10k...

Here is a Victorian book chain, 17” long, with two spring rings. Men: use it for your pocket watch, in true Victorian style (great for cosplay – especially Steampunk or Dickensian-type events.) Ladies, you can do the same, or hang a locket or charm on it! Each link, which looks like a little book – hence the name - has a pattern stamped or engraved into it. Some links show some wear consistent with age. It weighs 17.1g and is quite charming! The photos are a part of the description...

Here is a pair of identical rich yellow gold pins. They would be an excellent addition to your collection of Victorian jewelry! Measuring 1-1/4” x 1/4”, they say “BEBE” on the front. They test as 9k, weigh 3.0 g, and the findings are signed “VID”. There are tiny flowers and other floral designs at the edges. It looks like the safety-pin findings are old replacements. One of them has 2 brownish stains on the back, otherwise they are in excellent condition...

This lovely slide bracelet has 11 (10K & 14k) gold slides, some of which have opals and seed pearls and what looks like coral. The central slide depicts a beautiful Art Nouveau flower. The clasp is gold filled or 9k, the gold paperclip chain tests as 10k, but the round beads are hard to test beyond confirming that they are gold. One slide has a 14k hallmark and a maker’s mark, and one other has a maker’s mark, which looks like an oak leaf. It weighs in at 16.6g...

This pin is 14k gold and holds a coral branch. It is Victorian in age and has maker's mark, BML. The pin is 2" X 1/2". Circa 1860. Coral has been used in jewelry for thousands of years. It has been called Sea Garden because of its resemblance to a plant. Coral is used as protection from negativity and evil, and to dispel feelings of inner weakness.

Here is a beautiful Victorian cameo, set in flourishes of yellow gold and decorated with 4 pearls. The background is a slightly darker pink than the lady. The attention to detail in the carving is very nice, and she is in excellent condition. There is one missing pearl, but it’s unnoticeable. It seems to say “SIG” in script across the back. The bale is signed with “10K” inside what looks like a stylized “C”. It measures 1-13/16” not including the bail, by 1”...

A charming crescent pin that is very Victorian, with a seed pearl crescent supporting two seed pearl studded hearts. The hallmark is incomplete; the marks for Birmingham and England are present, along with an unidentified mark. There is no date stamp. The 2" wide pin appears to be circa 1890 and it is 14 k gold.

Here is a show-stopper of a necklace! The rigid cross piece has a chain running above it, through loops over 5 oval amethysts with very nice color, each set into an inverted heart-shaped framework, and separated from the next by a tiny pearl. Set below each amethyst is a seed pearl, and below the framework are draping chains, the central 5 each having a freshwater pearl dangle. At each end of the bar is an additional little round amethyst, for a total of 7...

Here is a fascinating stick pin, depicting a crescent moon – symbol of the female principal, intuition and new beginnings; an arrow – symbol of swiftness, Sagittarius, and sexual attraction (Cupid’s bow); and a 5-pointed star, symbolic of so many things we won’t even start! It is set with 11 turquoises (birthstone for December, believed to be good for healing and focus) and one seed pearl. The rose gold tests as 14kt...

This elegant band, with a continuous wheat sheaf pattern (wheat signifies love and charity), comes out of the turn of the last century, according to jewelry historian Christie Romero (RIP). She also told us it was probably made using a process called “die rolling.” It is marked “22ct”, “PLATINUM” (the platinum is under the gold, as you can see in the photos), and the maker’s mark is “B’s”. It is size 5-1/4 plus a little, and it cannot be sized. 5.6 grams...

This intriguing locket depicts a saint, probably St. Peter, holding a key (to the church? To heaven?), with a dove (?) - in the background) on one side. On the other is a photograph of an ecclesiastical-looking person. It contains a touched relic (a bit of ribbon which has been touched to a saint’s bone or something worn by a saint), a tiny metal medal with Mary on one side, saying "Mary conceived without sin” and more Christian imagery on the other, and a wisp of cotton...

Here is a classic “gypsy ring,” made from rich yellow 18kt gold. The center stone is a diamond, the outer two stones are rubies. It has decorative scroll work on the shoulders. The hallmarks are for Chester, 1903, and there is a maker’s mark that we can’t read. It weighs 4.0g, and is approximately size 5. The shank is a little off round, and it’s possible that it was sized at some time, however it is in excellent condition. The photos are part of the description; please examine them ca...

The design of this lovely 15 ct gold Victorian ring surprisingly modern. Two faceted rubies are set off by three seed pearls, with each gem surrounded by a square bezel. It has English hallmarks for Chester [England], 1865-6, and 15 carat gold, as well as a maker's mark of BHJ. The ring is a size 7.

Here is a very classic brooch, in the style of Lucien Gautrait, featuring a ribbon and flower motif, with a ring of white enamel in the center. The pearl on the dangle may be a replacement (as so many are). The brooch is marked with the French eagle for 18k gold and partial owl marks with “73”, indicating a piece that was imported into France post 1893 and assayed in the town of Rouen. There is also what looks like a blurry French maker’s mark, so the marks are confusing. It measures 1-1/2...

Here is a pair of very unusual cuff links! We have only seen one other pair with photos. Each cuff link has a photograph of an elegant lady in a white high-necked blouse with upswept hair. These were clearly worn a lot, based on the patina, but they still look great. The 10k marks are on the back of the fronts only, not on the “torpedo” ends, and we don’t like to test torpedoes, so can’t promise that they are also 10k, but they certainly look it. The fronts measure 7/8” x 5/8”, the t...

Here is a dramatic brooch featureing two round black onyxes. Onyx has been used to defend against negativity – crucial in today’s world! Unmarked, but tests as 14 or 15 karat gold. It is centered by a baroque or freshwater pearl, and has two draping chains framing a central dogs-tooth pearl dangle. It is further decorated by swirls and ropes of gold. It measures 1-11/16” x 1-1/4”, and the chains and dangle add another inch, making it 2-1/4” long in total. It is in excellent condition. ...
