Here is an interesting white metal locket. It is engraved on the front in a stylized pattern, and plain on the back. The inside has some scratches in the metal. The photo rings and celluloid are not present, but perhaps it was used for a lock of hair or other momento – very popular back in the day. It measures 1-1/4” x 7/8" and the interesting paperclip chain is a bit over 22". The back has a few dark marks which might clean up. Generally, a handsome Edwardian or Victorian piece...

This spirited fixe gryphon clutches a protective shield with clawed feet. His tail curls through the fanciful edges of the shield. Altogether a delightful companion to ornament a jacket or other garment. The trombone catch is a replacement but the old-style tube hinge is original. The 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" pin is marked FIX and is Art Nouveau in age, circa 1900.

A sassy dragon curled around a large amethyst-colored brilliant (yes, it’s glass) hides the hook that turns this into a watch pin. He has a dark red cabochon eye (probably glass) and a colorless brilliant in his mouth. It is unmarked and is 1” by ¾” in size. The pin is vermeil (gold over sterling). It has a round hinge and eared clasp, suggesting an age of late 1800s or early 1900s.

Swirls and Dangles A lovely Victorian pin with coral beads and branch in a gold-filled setting. The three dangles, with beads and a small coral branch give movement and liveliness when it's worn. The whiplash design of the mounting suggests that it has an Art Nouveau influence. Circa 1885.

Amethyst? No. Glass. Gold? No. Gold fill. Do those facts mean this lavalier is any less lovely? No! This charming lavalier is both antique and eye-catching. The stone is amethyst-colored glass and the metal is gold-fill. The lavalier is not marked, but the 20" gold-filled chain bears the maker's mark for Bates & Bacon. The lavalier is 1 1/8 X 3/4", not including the fresh-water pearl dropper. Circa 1900.

This very Victorian pin is gold fill set with two rose-cut red pastes and one cabochon ‘turquoise’. The pin is 1 ¼" wide with a central ball element that is 3/8" in diameter. Applied circles of wire rope ornament a vertical, rectangular bar. A hollow ball dangles from two chains; another chain connects the pin to the stickpin. This device preceded the safety catch to prevent loss of the pin. The C hinge and double C catch are replacements...

This charming pin is the embodiment of Victorian design. A very stylized butterfly perches on a row of 'gold' ball-shaped dangles. The 'butterfly is centered with a colorless brilliant, and small red imitation rubies are at each side. As was common at the time in the Victorian era, a matching stickpin acts as a safety feature as well as being pretty. The pin is a generous 1 1/2" and is gold filled. There is a maker's mark PC Co. Circa 1880

This simple yet elegant gold washed lavalier evokes both the Nouveau and the Deco eras with its design. It measures 1-3/8” without the bale, and 1/2” at the widest point. It features 3 dark purple stones, which might be glass – we couldn’t identify them with certainty. The top stone’s facets are somewhat abraded, and there is wear to the metal. Circa 1920.
