Here is a fantastic necklace, in the style of Murrle, Bennett and other Arts & Crafts designers of high renown. It is unsigned, which is not unusual. It features a central silver panel with a big labradorite cab, 3/4” x 9/16”. The whole panel with dangles measures 13/16” x 1-7/8”. The wearable length is 24”, and there are 20” worth of labradorite beads, most having the distinctive and beautiful blue flash for which that stone is known...

Here is one of our very favorite pieces, a striking Jugendstil (Germany and Austria’s Arts & Crafts era) pendant which is enameled in white and purple. It is made from 900 silver (sterling is 925), and centered by a lovely oval amethyst which is flanked above and below by tiny seed pearls. There is a pearl dangle (which we added, as the original was missing) below an arc of milgrained metal. It measures 1-1/2” x 7/8” and weighs 4.7g...

Charles Horner was a major maker of Arts & Craft enamel pieces. This necklace is simple, with its shaded green and blue enamel and pleasingly elegant sterling silver frame. It is signed Charles Horner and is on a 14" chain. The hallmarks indicate it is sterling and was made in Chester in 1912-3. The enamel pendant is 3/4 X 1".

This silver buckle is so perfectly Art Nouveau and so perfectly William B. Kerr. It is 5 1/4" wide and 1 5/8" high and bears these markings: PATENTED JUNE 25, 1901; STERLING; 1564; and the fasces [maker's mark for Kerr]. It is in excellent condition, and the patina of age has been left undisturbed. Circa 1900.

Here is a pretty ring, which comes out of the era when Edwardian styles were sliding into Art Deco. It is marked “925” for sterling silver, and set with a ruby, birthstone for those born in July. Rubies have been called “the queen of stones and the stone of kings.” The ring has the mellow patina of age, and is size 6. It could be sized. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! We do lay-away. Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.

This plique a jour pendant is centered with an oval opal and accented with eight colorless brilliants and a fresh water pearl dropper. The translucent enamel is an unusual and lovely blue in color. Plique a jour, that unusual, difficult, and beautiful technique, dates from the 15th century. It was used by Cellini, then revived in the late 1800s in France. The metal frame in this lovely piece is 900 silver, suggesting that the piece is most likely German or Austrian in origin. Circa 1900.

This heavily engraved silver pin is from the estate of Helen Aman, who escaped from the Bolshevik Revolution to (eventually) settle in California. It was one of the jewels from her childhood. It consists of a bell (with a clapper – but it doesn’t actually chime) dangling from an angled bar. Marked 84 for 875 silver, it also has a partial city mark, which we believe is for Moscow. It measures 1-3/8” x 7/8", and is in excellent antique condition, with a nice patina...

Here is a very pretty pin featuring an oval purple cabochon, possibly glass, possibly amethyst (it’s hard to get a reading on this stone), centered between two hammered silver leaves (very A&C), all on a very Art Nouveau framework. Marked “DEPOS” (probably meant to say “DEPOSE”, which translates roughly as “patented”), it is probably from Germany. There are two illegible marks, one on the C-clasp, and one on the back. It tests as silver, measures 1-3/4” x 3/4", and weighs 4.4 g...

Here is a wonderful bracelet by Schaverien & Eastmead of Birmingham, England. It is 7” long and 3/8” wide at the widest points, with 5 enameled panels shading from dark green to pale green to magenta and back again. In between each panel is a round blister pearl. Each connecting link has a hard-to-read mark, probably a lion, also the marks for Birmingham, 1909, and “S&E”. The clasp has a safety chain...

Here is a very pretty lavalier or pendant, with enamel on both sides - which is unusual for Arts & Crafts pieces. The front has a central panel in a beautiful peacock blue, and 2 outer panels in the shape of stylized hearts, in a darker blue. The back is sky-blue (somewhat worn at a few of the high points). There is a freshwater pearl drop. It weighs 2.1g and measures 1-5/8” from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pearl...

Here is a coral garland (also referred to as “festoon” or “swag”) necklace consisting of 8 coral cabuchons of graduated lengths and sizes. The three longest drops are on rigid bars. The coral is a lovely dark ox-blood red, very hard to capture in photos. Coral was believed to prevent bad luck, and to be an aid to meditation. The length is 15-1/4” (but it would be easy to lengthen it), and the decorated portion is 4-1/4” x 2-1/8” at the longest point...

Tiny and charming. The pin is made of 800 silver, enameled on both front and back, and centered with a square-cut peridot. The pin is 3/4" in diameter. Enamel is slightly worn on the front, but is in better condition on the back. There is a small chip in the stone. Enough negativity! It's a lovely pin! It is marked with the dog's head quality mark that shows it is 800 silver, made between 1872 & 1922 in Austro-Hungary and an A for the maker.

Here is a serene lady with water lilies or lotuses in her hair. The lotus, a variety of water lily, has symbolized purity, enlightenment, and resurrection. This lady is remarkably similar to a piece made by the Unger Bros., but marked only STERLING – and the stamp is reversed! We believe her to be a copy, but still made around 1900 – this seemed to have happened fairly frequently back in the day...

Jewelry pavé set with turquoise is classically Victorian style. This pin is silver, pavé set with cabochon turquoises. It is small in size but hits on three of the most popular designs: bow, heart, and flowers. The bow is flanked by turquoise-set flowers and suspends a heart set with 13 more turquoises. The heart is articulated to move as the wearer moves. 1" X 1 1/4". Circa 1870-1880.

Victorian fashion became newly popular in the late 1920s, assisted by a number of period films. The shimmering colors of butterfly wing graced increasingly popular jewelry which originated in England, where it was made from the wings of the Morpho, a Brazilian butterfly. This set is a real treasure and consists of a necklace and two pairs of earrings, one button and one dangle. Each piece features a tropical scene...
