This beautiful pin is a crossover between the Art Nouveau and Victorian styles. The Victorians loved to use real insects, particularly these green beetles, in jewelry. The Nouveau jewelers loved naturalistic motifs, but generally didn’t use the insect itself – yet the design of the pin is totally Nouveau. Marked 14k, the pale gold setting contrasts nicely with the deep green of the beetle. The pin stem assembly is original...

Perfect for a wedding, here is a very pretty starburst pin/necklace, made from 14k gold (marked and tested), set with seed pearls, and with an old European cut diamond in the center. It has a maker’s mark in the shape of a Maltese cross. Measuring 1-1/8”, it weighs 6g. The bail folds down nicely for wearing as a necklace. The 18” chain is gold filled, and not original to the piece. It comes with an antique dark blue velvet box...

Here is a lovely, simple stickpin with a stylized flower design based on a Japanese family crest. It is marked “k20” on the back, and tests as a very strong 20k. The flower head measures 1/2 x 7/8”, and the whole pin is 2-1/2” long. It weighs 2.4g. The pin is a bit bent, not surprisingly given the high gold content (please see photos), otherwise in excellent condition. Circa 1900. Japanese art had a huge influence on the Art Nouveau movement in Europe and America...

Here is a lovely 15k gold ring, made in Birmingham, England. There are 4 purplish garnets across the top, in excellent condition, highlighted by 6 seed pearls. Garnets (January birthstone) are known as the “stones of love and devotion,” and are also thought to bring balance to life. The setting is closed backed, and inside the engraved shank it is fully hallmarked with the anchor for Birmingham, “15” and “625” for 15k gold, and the X for 1872-1873...

This lovely jewel features a circle of 6 ginkgo leaves radiating out from a small diamond, with rows of seed pearls in between. The enamel is lovely, detailed, and subtle. It is both a brooch and a pendant. The bale is on a swivel; it folds down neatly so that it’s invisible when worn as a brooch. Unmarked but tested 14k rose gold, about 33 pearls, and an approximately .02 full cut old diamond, slightly chipped. The jewel measures 1-1/16” in diameter and weighs 5.7g...

Here we have a pretty 9k yellow gold necklace. The design is Art Nouveau/Arts & Crafts. It is centered by a dark red garnet, possibly a spessartite. Garnets are the birthstone for January, and were traditionally thought to keep travelers safe. The dangle is set with a blister pearl of a mellow off-white color. There are 3 tiny seed pearls in the main setting...

Amethysts were traditionally thought to aid in clarity of mind, putting the wearer in touch with their intuitions. This large amethyst should work beautifully, measuring 10mm across. It is set in a framework of leaves that bring to mind the Arts and Crafts era, with another leaf on the bale, and a fringe of tiny seed pearls dangles below. It is marked and tested 14k gold and weighs 1.8g. I believe it was made during the 1960s, but am not sure – it could be earlier. In excellent condition...

These elegant 14 k gold earrings are set with five round garnets each. The bezel settings have closed backs. Hidden quality is present here. Just as having elegant detail in a garment to give the wearer an extra feeling of wonderful, these earrings have delicately patterned backs that show only on close inspection. Beautiful! (Picture 5) The earrings are Georgian in age (pre 1837) and are 3/4" long. Gotta love the workmanship!

Here is a pair of quite unusual cuff links! We have only seen one other pair with photos, and those were in base metal. Each has a photograph of an elegant lady in a white high-necked blouse with upswept hair. These were clearly worn a lot, based on the patina, but they still look great. The 10k marks are on the back of the fronts only, not on the “torpedo” ends, and we don’t like to test torpedoes, so can’t promise that they are also 10k, but they look like they are. The fronts measure ...

This pretty ring is composed of 7 amethysts, birthstone for February (and historically thought to guard against poison) and on either side of the cluster, a bezel-set accent diamond (of about I clarity) and one tiny half seed pearl. The ring is approximately size 6-1/2, and would be easy to re-size. Marked 10K and signed ECI. In excellent condition, with just a bit of patina. The gold is yellow, despite looking rosy in the photos. The photos are part of the description; please examine them care...

This fantastic locket is a show stopper! The front has a lovely Egyptian woman or girl in profile, wearing a headdress, from which a few locks of hair have escaped, and hoop earrings. She is nestled within a crescent moon (symbolic of the female principal, intuition, and new beginnings). The back has a monogram, and inside it has both photo rings, but no celluloid. That can easily be fixed with plastic. Unusually large, it measures 1-5/8”, and weighs .77 ounce. It is made of gold over silver, ...

This ring is centered by a beautiful piece of navette-shaped lapis lazuli (traditionally a stone of royalty, also signifying truth and inner strength), with specks of pyrite for a bit of sparkle. The stone measures 3/4” N to S, and 1/4” E to W. The setting is made of 14k yellow gold, formed into graceful curlicues. It is stamped 14k, and also has a maker’s mark, which appears to be “KBN” and also a dot in a circle. The size is between 5-1/4 and 5-1/2, and it weighs 5.5g. This is an old...

This elegant and very rare ring weighs in at 11.5 grams. The top (measuring 5/8” x 5/8”) has a lovely Nouveau design, and no monogram – ready for your initials. (Finding a signet ring that is both Art Nouveau AND that has never been monogrammed is really unusual!) The top edges and shanks are beautifully carved with Nouveau swirls which are deeply incised. It is unmarked 14k gold, and size 9-1/4. Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully and ask que...
