This charming brooch is very wearable. Plique a jour jewels are very hard to come by these days – they are somewhat fragile, rare, and we believe that many of them are now in private collections. This lovely maple leaf pin seems to be missing one leaf. However, the space has been filled with a pretty drop made of green agate, so the loss is hardly noticeable. The clasp is stamped “Sterling”. It measures 26”, and the links are 1/4” or 4mm wide at the widest point. It weighs 5.6g, and is in excellent condition. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully...

On one side we see the face of Friedrich (presumably) and his wife, a Maltese cross, and the words “FRIEDRICH * I * 1701 * WILHELM * II * 1901”, on the other side is an eagle with a crown above, and “DEUTSCHES REICH 1901 ZWEI MARK”. The rest is white metal. The swivel clasp has a mark, which looks like a plow. We haven’t been able to track it down. The coin and split ring weigh approximately .40oz, and the whole thing .94oz...

Here is a beautiful sash buckle, designed for Tiffany by the famous George Shiebler. It is marked “Tiffany & Co,” the winged S for Shiebler, “Sterling,” and “4758.” It is 3” x 2”, with a slight curve to it, and weighs 42.2g/1.49oz. Decorated with a floral motif, it’s a beauty. Geo. W. Shiebler & Co. were in business under that name from 1876 until almost 1915. It came in a Tiffany fabric bag, which may be original to the piece. In excellent condition...
