Beautiful, antique, and signed by a famous maker--can it get any better?
This lovely turn-of-the-century pendant is centered with a 12 x 30 mm oval citrine surrounded by a pale blue enameled band studded with marcasites. Enameled bows on each side and a fresh water pearl dropper finish the design.
The metal is 935 silver (higher silver content than sterling) and the pendant is signed with the dragonfly mark for Meyle & Mayer. The firm of Meyle & Mayer is well-known for Jugenstil, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco jewelry. It was probably located in Pforzheim.
The chain is sterling. There is very minor enamel damage on left side. The piece dates from 1900-30.
