Early and rarely encountered oversized Japanese limited edition sosaku hanga “kappa-ban” (stencil print) by Yoshitoshi Mori (1898-1992) depicting tradesmen. The print is pencil-signed “Yoshitoshi Mori” at the lower right, dated ’68, and numbered 28/60. The artist’s red seal is above the signature. The paper measures 26 1/2”V x 21 1/2”H. The print is in good overall condition. The portion of the paper edge that was previously covered by a mat is very sightly darker. There are two pieces of archival tape at the top edge and there are some vestiges of old adhesive at the bottom back edge where it appears a label might once have been affixed. There are some areas of faint discoloration in the white background and there are some wrinkles evident in the fine paper. This print is from a Tucson, Arizona collection.
