Chinese late Qing to Republic period camphor wood trunk densely carved with relief lotus flowers. Incised brass circular front lock plate. Circa 1900 to early 20th century. 31" long x 14" wide x 13" high. Very good, solid overall condition. There is a small separation in the wood at one of the front edges and a minor loss at one back corner revealing the tip of a tiny old nail (see closeup images). This piece is from the Manning family collection and was originally housed in the historic Manning House in downtown Tucson.
