Chinese woodblock print depicting a communal farm scene of workers tilling a large field titled “Savory Rice in South China” by Guilin artist Song Xianbang (b. 1938) dating from the 1960s. Paper: 18 1/2” x 14 1/2" (image: 17” x 13 1/2"). Very good overall condition. There are two small pieces of linen tape to the top back edge. This print was published in the People’s Daily in 1965 and was included in a 1979 National Woodblock Prints Exhibition. More than one hundred of Song Xianbang’s prints and paintings have appeared in various publications and he has exhibited in both national and international shows. Examples of his work can be found in the Tianjin Art Museum.
