Pair of Japanese Meiji period silverplate floral repousse-decorated temple pricket candle stands (“shokudai”), or candlesticks, with chrysanthemum form scalloped bases and holders densely covered in chrysanthemums and leafy foliage. Bases are weighted. Late 19th to early 20th century. 24 1/2" and 25" high each x 9” diameter base. Very good overall condition with a nice patina and only minor wear evident. The top holder on the shorter stand leans slightly. From the estate of Tucson educator Noel Ring.
